Woman's World is better than this

At least that one has Katy's trademark quirky personality and a more interesting delivery. this one is so lifeless

"Max is all over it" when he produced 5 out of 17 songs for the album. He's barely even half of it

Isn't this song sampling something else though? Like both Katy and this guy are sampling a song from the 90s/00s i just can't think what it is but i've defo heard this chord progression 17 million times before. Also quite reminiscient of this UK hit back in the day: 

OT: The song is 17,000x better than Woman's World, it's nothing groundbreaking and a bit of a looped mess but definitely listenable

Much more enjoyable, but I do wish there was a little something extra to punch up the song - the production, while decent, is stock standard piano house, just as WW was that with 80s synths. This is cute, a 7/10, but she needs to be giving 10/10s.

The YouTube views are serving Halsey/ Kim Petras level of smash, they need to do something quick.

Um... I can't believe I'm saying this but I think I might prefer Woman's World? Oh

The best thing about this whole ordeal is that it has, hopefully, proven to all of you that Dr Luke is, and always has been, a mediocre producer and we do NOT need him back. His best work was in the 2000's and heavily relied on great co-writers. His productions after that, including TD and Prism, sound washed out and have aged like milk. We were perfectly fine having left him in the iPod era and Katy's extremely unfortunate and ill-advised choice to do an entire album with him officially put her right next to him in that shelf of relics.

 

Somehow I still hope she can turn this around. Without him.

I'm sorry but she should've demanded more from L*ke  like she really put her whole image on the line to work with that man again and he gave her the most uninspired bland music imaginable 

 

This can't have taken him more than 10 minutes to make, I'm sure he had the piano loop already lying around somewhere and he just added some kicks to it

 

If I was Katy and I woke up to a voicenote playing THIS instrumental I'd be pissed, but maybe she doesn't care

Its a cute bop. She needed the same power of ad libs she had on Birthday to be at the end of this song. On Birthday she was SANGING.

Look, it's catchy... but a month of teasing the chorus, and it's literally a song with 1 verse and the chorus repeated 4 times that took 9 songwriters to craft? I'm so disappointed. I miss the glory days of KP.

 

Katy once said it's Never Really Over, but I fear she was wrong. It's feeling pretty over right now :( 

Better than WOMAN'S WORLD but the snippet was teased and overplayed so much I'm already bored of this song. The production sucks and feels basic AF. 
 

On second thoughts, I don't enjoy it as much as I wanted to. Maybe single 3 will be that one for me…. 

Hey at least she's consistent with the quality 

I feel like both this and Woman's World had potential but the too basic lyrics and repetitive structure ruin them both.

 

the constant and long teasing for such repetetive songs do NOT make her favor at all.

 

still, it's a cute bop and Imma keep wishing her the best.

As a Woman's World hater I have to say WW is better. Maybe WW really is the best pop track in this album. I'm sure there will be a ballad that is actually better (such as Save as Draft in Witness) but she couldn't use ballad as first single.

 

Also she wasted her sexy body image with this album, if she wants to pull that again with a better album it might not work.

She used, just like Riri, to have the perfect recipe to make bops. Like her songs were SO catchy. This is still NOT it I'm sorry. It's not bad but it's boring AF.

idk the song is cute, but really something i would have expected more from like kylie minogue or something.

and it kinda sounds like one of these random dj collabs that pop girls like to do occasionally.

the video is cute, reminds me a bit of a (low budget) teenage dream for some reason.
