IMHO she missed her chance to evolve her voice style with the 3rd record (which I liked I don't get the hate). The baby voice was cute in her debut and even melodrama but now that she's close to 30.. 🤷‍♀️

She is a superstar though. At least for the kind of people who frequent the catacombs under the Louvre.

I think that she performs commercially at the exact level she wants to. She's big enough to be a part of the conversation, receive critical and award reception, go on successful tours, and take 3-4 year breaks between every album. But she also doesn't get the same megastar scrutiny, doesn't have to do grueling press, or churn out material constantly. Just bc Royals was a huge hit doesn't mean she's a hungry pop star, even when it was she didn't act like it.

yeah like... nothing went wrong. royals was a flash in the pan random success. regardless of it smashing or not i feel she would still release whatever she wants whenever she wants

I don't care for Lorde being successful but I simply will not support her if she releases hot pieces of **** like that tragic ass album Solarpower
