It’s the start of her slowing down the promo for a bit. However, there were 3 videos and she was prepping for a tour.

I think the upcoming album will be a drop-and-go type album. She just wants to get it out there as she is in a different point in her life and wants to get over the past two years prior to last summer.

Everyone's literally complaining about her so-called overexposure, she was smart to tone it down a lil. If it werent for the tour, rerecordings, and her past singles repeaking, there would definitely be more attention given to this album.

If there was a 4th single, it definitely should be Maroon.

Idk I think it did what it needed to, no? Smashed, kicked off her return to pop and huge tour, won AOTY, gave her the smash multi week #1 1bn+ streams global hit her haters claimed she couldn’t get anymore.

A couple extra singles would’ve worked if she wasn’t also doing re-recordings but Cruel Summer was going to blow up regardless sooo I think it did the trick.

Since I saw her concert last Friday I keep going back to Midnights though. It’s genuinely a lot better than I remembered

she was EVERYWHERE what more was there to do :deadbanana: there were no obvious hits on the album

Yes, there was no Maroon music video… time to unstan…

however, midnight rain should have been the 4th single followed by bejeweled as the 5th single

I want to be greedy and ask for more but I'm content with what we got! So many monumental record breaks in 1 album cycle!

If there was a 4th single, it definitely should be glitch or yoyok.

yoyok is more of a cult classic than a single tbh

glitch.............. should stay in the vault, maybe not even there in the first place

No. The promotion and marketing for Midnights was immaculate. Taylor is too big for those irrelevant late-night talk show performances and it seems like she's over the award shows performances in general.

Midnights was announced at the MTV VMAs, the album had many different variants/covers, she did a TikTok tracklist reveal and 2 late-night talk show interviews, she also attended and gave speeches/promoted the album at the MTV EMAs, AMAs, IHeartRadio Music Awards, MTV VMAs and The Grammys, released 3 deluxe editions (Target, 3AM and The Til Dawn editions), 3 radio singles and their remixes, 4 music videos, 2 new remixes (Karma and SOTB feat. More Lana) and she also released a bonus track "You're Losing Me (From The Vault)". And of course, the biggest and best promotion for Midnights was The Eras Tour and its concert film.

Anything more than that would be stupid. She doesn't need TV performances and TV/radio interviews anymore. She's arguably the biggest female artist ever and she's way past that excessive 1989 level of TV/Radio promotion. She doesn't need to hustle anymore.

There were 4 videos actually. The original 3 that were supposed to get released in chronological order and be the first 3 singles

Lavender Haze - the lead

Anti Hero - single #2

Bejeweled - single #3

When it looked like Bejeweled could potentially ruin the full top 10 debut getting blocked by Unholy, she panicked and released the video during the album's debut week to increase its point and consequentially destroying it as a potential future single. In reality she didn't need to do that (or release digital downloads of Bejeweled and Question on her website) because BB later stated that she would have occupied the entire top 10 from streaming alone.

Well and..

Karma remix - single #3 and video #4

Yes I think so.

She sabotaged it to focus on her re-releases and Cruel Summer randomly blew up and gave it competition too. It didn’t even get a significantly larger space on her tour as well.

There was 7 months between Anti Hero and Cruel Summer. 8 months between Midnights Lead and SNTV.

I mean it was still a massive success and is the biggest album of its year but it really could’ve been bigger and defined her year more. I feel like albums like Lover/Rep/SOS will have better recurrents in 10 years because of this.

She made the right decision for her overall career stats though.

This is actually not true. A few days before the album came out Taylor released a schedule for the release week and it already included a 2nd music video being released on Tuesday so no, it wasn't a last minute decision.

Not really.  The fact the Cruel Summer took off the way it did means she did not really have much time to promote the album.  Then she also had two TVs to release.

We're in the Eras era right now, she was never going to give 'Midnights' the extended eras-treatment that 'SOS' or 'Future Nostalgia' received. The era basically ending last Spring was always unsurprising.

That's also why 'Tortured Poets' will also most likely be over as an "era" by the end of the year, if not even by the end of this summer. She has a lot of other things going on.

She didn't panick, a 2nd 'Midnights' video was always scheduled to come the week of release:

It doesn't matter because whatever she released would've been overshadowed by Cruel Summer

Yea there was a lot going on. I wish we got at least 1 awards show perfomance from Midnights but oh well.
