Rebel Heart gets way more over-hated.

 

Rebel Heart is my favorite from her 2010s, but it seems like people want it on Death Row and I'm like

 

I think Rebel Heart has some solid album tracks. Does it have some duds? Yes, but so does Hard Candy.

 

I think MDNA and Madame X are ten times worse but don't let @LOTF see you say it though before he runs in here to thumbs you down.

 

I seriously do NOT like Madame X at all.

 

Like at ALL.

 

I thought MDNA was really bad but Madame X was like "hold my beer please".

Why the male producers in this album sings and talks so much?.

I mean It's madonna. Shut up!

Is there anything this woman could possibly do you wouldn't find fault with?  If it marked the beginning of the end then S&S wouldn't have become the top grossing tour (by a female artist) for 15 years. MDNA, Rebel Heart and MX weren't that good but let's not act like other pop starlets weren't putting out **** quality music 5 years into their careers. After a string of fantastic albums, Madonna could afford to make a few bad one's. Others can't.

 

OT I don't talk about Hard Candy much, but it's not bad by any means. In fact, I love the first six tracks, but then it kind of dips a little and doesn't pick up again until "Devil". I've heard a lot worst, tbh.

Can you imagine if she re-released it after Miles Away with these bonus tracks

Madame X is an underrated misunderstood masterpiece 💋

It's okay, but definitely in the bottom half of her discography. I do think that MDNA and Madame X – the two albums that I think are actually overhated – are way better than Hard Candy (and Rebel Heart, for that matter, although they all have some great tracks as well).

As a standalone album it is slightly underrated... but had I been a fan at the time I would've had a meltdown getting that as an immediate follow up to Confessions. It's better than MDNA and Rebel Heart I'll give it that. 

I like a lot of Hard Candy, but it's so Pharrell-coded

WRONG, it has I Don't Search I Find, her best song since Confessions 

Give It 2 Me is her highlight, yes. But this album also marked her creative decline.    

It's a cute 7/10 album, just not a worthy follow-up to COADF.

I understand the criticism for the album but I'm very fond of it. It takes me back to a great time in my life when I was a teenager with no worries and it was my first time seeing Madonna AND my first concert at that. So the majority of the album is full of great memories for me personally even if I can recognise the songs arent nowhere near her top50 songs.

 

Sure it coulve used some editing. She's Not Me & Incredible have no business being +6min long and the tracklist is a bit messy. Ring My Bell is her worst bonus track (well it was til Bidet Song came out lmao). I think if it had 1 or 2 songs by a different producer on it instead of tracks like Dance 2Nite it'd be better remembered as it'd serve a little diversity. And yeah sure, some of the chants are cringey but it's harmless, bland at most and nowhere near the lows of some writers camp songs from MDNA

an album with heartbeat could never be horrible

I love this album but I like Pharrell and Timbaland's production so obviously I enjoy the album. They should have replaced Incredible with Latte though.

Beat goes on should have been a single it’s such an effortlessly great tune

Yes and, unpopular opinion, but it's better than COADF. Give It 2 Me is a phenomenal song in particular.

 

For me, the start of her musical decline was American Life, but COADF and Hard Candy were brief upticks that still didn't get close to other 00s/borderline 00s albums Ray of Light and Music. MDNA was where the music quality really went off the rails.

It is. I loved it upon arrival, and I still greatly enjoy it. It's one of my favorites from her, actually.

Yes, it’s a good album. 

It's one of her best, most solid, most cohesive. Perfect pop/dance album. Well produced, catchy. Wall to wall bops. She ate.

it’s a fine fun solid record. miles better than rebel shart her worst album. mdna and madame xcellence are just too ahead of their time but eventually people will see the light. 

 

she should’ve gone with the original black madonna theme tho instead of the boxer aesthetic and naming it hard candy. it would’ve been so iconic + social justice wasnt a thing back then so she wouldn’t have been cancelled

Yes. It aged so well and it’s a perfect workout album. Every pop girl’s Pharrell and/or Timbaland era ends up being their best even though people hate them when they first come out
