What is left for Midnights?

Featured Replies

Taylor's massively successful album, Midnights, which defined 2022 as well as 2023, is nominated for a total of 6 Grammys. Knowing Taylor and how big of a chance she has to win any of the big categories (mostly SOTY and AOTY), what do you think is left for the Midnights era?

Obviously, less than two months after the release of 1989 TV, she changed her social media layout back to Midnights, indirectly confirming that Midnights will be her main focus until her next album (or maybe the Grammys). Will there be a proper grammy campaign?

I know that people say the tour is already a campaign, which is true. But will she do something specifically for Midnights, as an album and a separate era??? Maybe a new single or music videos??

Anti-Hero is collapsing everywhere so not even that song will be remembered I fear

Given Taylor Swift's history of strategic album promotion and her meticulous approach to her projects, it's likely that she will continue to focus on the Midnights era, especially with the Grammy nominations. A dedicated Grammy campaign is plausible, considering the significance of the awards in recognizing artistic achievement.

As for additional releases, it's not uncommon for artists to drop new singles or music videos to rejuvenate interest in an album during award seasons. However, it ultimately depends on Taylor's creative vision and her assessment of the best way to showcase Midnights. The tour itself can indeed serve as a powerful promotional tool, but extra releases or campaigns can amplify the impact and keep the album in the spotlight. Only time will reveal the full extent of Taylor's plans for the Midnights era.

I think it would be neat to give it one last single to help carry it closer to the record for consecutive top ten weeks, but that would require cutting Is It Over Now? short when it’s doing well on radio, so that probably won’t happen. I would guess Grammy night, if she manages to win anything this year, is the epilogue of the Midnights era.

It's not iconic please.

Nothing. She's been done with the album ever since Karma remix came out and the tour started.

I doubt it. While final voting is still going on, campaigning season (for the Grammys at least) is basically over, since everyone is off for Christmas/New Year's Eve already.

The last big 'Midnights'-specific activity was the release of "Karma" back in May, since then she hasn't really done anything for the album apart from continuing to perform it on the tour. Her releasing the tour movie for rent was something cute for her Grammy chances, but it's nothing compared to the massive campaigns that Billie, Olivia or Jon Batiste are doing.

She’ll more than likely will drop a complete deluxe vinyl with all the 3am tracks + vaults and remixes down the line.

We need a Dear Reader music video to close out the era before TS11.

According to the Twitter insiders in 2022, Midnights is a visual album. I’m still waiting for the rest of the videos.
