Is "Make Me..." Britney's weakest lead single?

Featured Replies

Britney lead single usually start off with a banger, but it unusual for a mid-tempo song like MM is a lead of GLORY and since that album has so many better choices. I wouldn't said the song is bad, it has it moment and a grower for sure, but imo it is her weakest lead. It took me awhile to like it.

Do you think so too? If not what is her weakest lead single?

Work ***** is worse. That song is just pure noise. Make me is kinda forgettable but work ***** is horrible. I still don’t know how that song became a hit. If the sound of  a basic  gay twink on popper

Work ***** is iconic, but I can’t with the Myah vocals on that Paris Hilton reject sounding song

Make Me is pretty weak for her standards though, but a cute bop nonetheless

better was right there, so many disappointments with the era, but our girl was serving another beauty peak and we loved her happy.

It's not her best but after the disaster that was Britney Jean, it served its purpose :clap3:

It is her weakest lead single and it got weakened further by the official video. Make Me it's great in the context of a full album.

If the sound of  a basic  gay twink on poppers a a circuit party getting blown out by a train of ugly muscle gays was a song it would be work *****

As people have said, the answer is Work *****. That is her only weak lead single.

Make Me... is easily one of Glory's best and a career highlight.

Yes, especially as the rest of the album was so good!!!

Spoiler

SO GOOD!!

The label jumping on the rent a rapper trend was a bit annoying

It’s a nice song (minus the G Eazy verse), but it certainly wasn’t lead single material. She had plenty of other options on Glory. That being said, I think it’s a tie between Make Me and Work ***** (for different reasons).

HELP :rip:

Upon release, it was well appreciated for being a change. Britney was used to start her eras with a banger, and Make Me is a midtempo. Unfortunately, it wasn’t well handled by her team, which killed the potential of it being a bigger hit and, more importantly, a fan favorite. The music video fiasco alone turned a lot of fans off.
