he's literally about to be nominated for an Oscar and is being singled out for his work in May December, plus he is absolutely right so...

method acting was good back in the 50-70s cause it was really useful to modernize american cinema from that very theater based style of acting.

Now movies are another kind of thing it's almost always annoying and too much. From a way to make characters "more real" in a context of a "very fake cinema" now became the contrary: being too studied and acting too much rational in a context  is already realism.

You mean the same actor who’s currently a leading Oscar contender for one of the most acclaimed films of the year? 

 

It’s almost like incredible actors sometimes get trapped in poor projects at the start of their careers because they needed money and exposure. 

 

It’s like y’all forgot where people like Robert Pattison and such got started.

Currently a talented actor who’s gotten to flex his muscles in one of the most emotionally effecting and acclaimed performances of the year in one of the most acclaimed films of the year. Also a new Golden Globe nominee and leading contender for an Oscar nomination and perhaps even a win.

He’s right. The method is the WORST

Im literally trying to figure out why hes winnint so many awards right now...felt his performance in may december was fake and very "actory" (mainly the stuttering/anxiety parts).

I’ve never heard of Gaga harming others when she’s in character. It’s when she’s back to her real self in interviews telling us about that the harm is done.

unrelated but I hate his face, I think if I wanted to watch a movie and he was playing in it I would change plans
