This on Music instead of American Fad would've been amazing

its always been a severely underrated gem  a ROL reject done right! 

It's beautiful, and should have been a single after AP, not in place of it.

this is the same woman who, around these years, intentionally sabotaged the release of "Amazing", another song that wouldve smashed, because it sounded too similar to "Beautiful Stranger"

I don't deny American Pie was a hit at all. It went #1 in multiple countries I believe. But I don't think her cover was great, Time Stood Still was better imo. I think it would've done just as well as American Pie if released instead.

I forgot about that. Amazing is my fave song off Music along with WIFLFAG, I can't believe she sabotaged that as well.

how can anyone not like her cover of American Pie?  Her harmonies were gorgeous.

American Pie is very cute, however, Time SLAYED Still is on another level and it is one of her best songs

i'm not sure why she actually did it, but regardless, she nailed it.   I remember this era between Ray of Light and Music.  41 years old and still climbing the Pop charts. 

I read somewhere that this was an outtake from ROL that she re-wrote the lyrics to so it would fit the movie… if that’s true I bet the original lyrics were a lot better.  Still a bop though and obviously better than american hairpie

Definitely. Madonna didn't even want to do American Pie, got pushed to do it. I'm sure she would pick this instead if she could. 

She (or Warner) deserves to be in prison for sabotaging Into the Groove, Keep it Together, Don't Stop, Beautiful Stranger, American Pie, Amazing, etc.

She def wasted it. But personally I think "American Pie" was a great choice for a single, now this def would have been a better and more solid follow-up.

Don't Stop is a filler and stain on Godtime Stories   That album had 4 perfect singles (2 hits and 2 artistic statements)

Now hear me out, yes Bedtime Story and Human Nature are masterpieces and have amazing videos. But the success stan part of me can't help but think that Don't Stop, which Warner wanted her to release as the third single, would have been a good move. I actually enjoy the song, and it's impressive that right after Erotica she scored I'll Remember, Secret, and Take a Bow back to back. Madonna would have kept the hot streak going
