Dua just never misses does she

I cannot stand the trend of artists changing their album covers for a new era. It’s so tacky and ugly as ****. Change them back Dula.

Praying the teaser is an entirely different visual that will make us gag again. Not that the released visuals aren't good, the clean/model aesthetics are so good but I want to be surprised once again.

Well ... it seems repetitive in a way the verses are short - 15seconds each - and those are only part of song which doesn't repeat itself

 

I think structure would be better if after intro there was 1st verse instead of starting song with chorus, and then chorus could have been repeated twice at the end with added instruments and drum riser into the outro

 

But I wont complain because we could have get something like "Padam" where there was no bridge LOL

with DSN I was hoping the video will be something simple, timeless, sexy fashion with dance sequence like the promo

 

 

with HOUDINI I want exactly the opposite, I want big visuals lol

First catchy beat, then chorus, then 1st verse, then another chorus (you think hmmm, is that it), now the bridge Hits with added instrumentals, now verse 2 comes with added Instruments, then chorus with added adlips hits, then bridge follows again (you think hmm, is that it again?), and BOOM, THE GRANDE FINALE

Okay not to be nitpicky but this NEEDED a massive chorus after that outro. It would have made this a 10/10...

 

Still a really solid bop, the chorus is lowkey an earworm and I'm obsessed with the production. Thank you Huge Danny

Yeah but no one builds a Pop climax like Max Martin and when you expect Houdini to explode, it just... doesn't. But it's a cute sing. Only slightly underwhelmed cause New Rules/DSN were so immediate for me.

Funny, DSN wasnt as immediate for me. Houdini has an addictiveness to it that DSN didnt have for me

Her starting the song with "ok", "hmmm", "uh" is also quite iconic tbh

I read this to the tune of Yummy 

hmmmmmmmmmm ok not entirely what I was expecting but I did enjoy it. Not as instant as DSN but im gonna sit with it.

I’m really interested to hear the rest of the album cause this is undoubtedly a risky lead while DSN was relatively safe

 

This era will obviously be hard pressed to top the success of the FN era, but she doesn’t seem to care based on her releasing this song. Excited for what an arts-not-charts Dua era would look like

The song is growing on me so fast
