Britney Spears- Everytime MV appreciation thread ( Trigger warning)

First i'd like to include a warning as this might be triggering to some. Please proceed at your own discretion.

I've ALWAYS found the video a little strange/unfinished and abit vague. I have NEVER understood a big part of the plot especially how and when was she even "injured" in the video to begin with . And the baby storyline just never .....made any sense. But i guess after 20 years the missing puzzles have all come  together and it is darker than ever :dancehall3:

Also:

Not to mention the lyrics to the actual songs. And the instrumental as well. I wil never hear the song the same way. And i also gained a profound new respect for Britney and her artistry/songwriting.

  • A terrific song and video, now taken on a harrowing new meaning. We love you Britney! ATRL will always be the house that Britney built.

  • And people have the nerve to downplay this woman’s artistry    A haunting masterpiece!

I don't think the bath tub scene is related to the pregnancy bc the blood came from the back of her head.

“I guess I need you, baby”

”I make believe that you are here, it’s the only way I see clear”

”At night I pray, that soon your face will fade away”

”What have I done, you seem to move on easy”

Take on an entirely new context now. Less about guilt over an ex lover, more about something much deeper and complex.

That she had to relive this memory each time the song was performed, too… yet still did it.

I remember David LaChapelle saying that Britney had a mini meltdown while filming the music video and said she didn’t want to do it. Now it completely makes sense why :dancehall:

And plus in the original version of the video she was going to overdose on pills… :dancehall:

They initially filmed her basically.....offing her herself/overdosing on pills. And the original was apparently so dark her Label basically said big NO.

Either way im pretty sure it IS related. Because how did she even get hit on the head in the video? Plus , her standing in the hallways of a hospital, the baby and her running OFF the hospital at the end. With  a shot of her and the baby at the end.

Everything makes perfect sense.

She gets hit in the head by the paparazzis camera. You haven’t watched the video closely if u never noticed this

1. It's not that clear since she got hit in the front while the blood was coming from the back.

2. The whole song sounds like a lullaby.

3. The lyrics are kinda ambiguous. Doesn't feel like a whole ex-related song. (I guess I need you baby/and this song's my sorry).

4. The baby, literally, the biggest clue right there, at the end of the video.

Such a gorgeous song and the definition of artistry.

Imagine having a solo written ballad as immaculate as Everytime

It's haunting and beautiful at the same time

Geez this is so sad :( the instrumental sounding like a child’s music box, the lyrics, the subtle details in the video. Everything.

I will never listen to this song same again :weeps:

Just heard it this morning and I got stressed instantly

Britney, a strong woman that you are :cries:

This whole album took such a new meaning for me now. The way it starts happy, gets sensual, then turns sad, then a brief moment of joy followed by another wave of sadness.

And people have the nerve to downplay this woman’s artistry :psyduck:

A haunting masterpiece!

My Baby being the sequel :weeps:

Actually Someday ( I will understand) is the sequel

My weakness caused your pain and this song is my sorry :weeps:

Eventhough Britney’s bops are massive bops, classics and what made her success, I’m kinda sad her ballads have never really been released as singles outside a few exceptions because they’re really good. I also think her voice is perfect for them too, she always sounded fragile, vulnerable, imperfect sometimes and that’s what makes me feel emotions the most.

I trully love Everytime, it’s one of the most beautiful songs ever created and I am happy this one really came from Britney. At the same time it just took a whole new meaning. Her strength is beyond words.
