He went viral a couple years ago for posting songs on Facebook while still in the military. His last album has been charting for 65 weeks now and he’s on an arena tour. So, the success is a combination of word-of-mouth and good music:michael:

Listening to it now & it’s pretty excellent. It’s a return to real country, with hints of Americana, roots, rock, blues, etc. instead of that bro-country bullshit that’s poisoned the genre for the last decade plus. Deserved
