because britney changed a few words, if that? please be real. britney has the lead writing credit on every song on britney jean, an album that's mostly not even her singing. do you believe she wrote those too?

Except Justin Tranter and Julia Michaels have literally spoken about how involved Britney was in the writing of Glory and many of the songs came from her writing and her ideas. The Britney Jean comparison is weak as we all know the reasons for the mess that occurred during that era. To act like that somehow means Britney has no involvement in writing any of her other material is just dumb, particularly when writers and producers have spoken to the contrary  It's okay to be wrong sis

Not many people on here are willing to recognize what an achievement this album was when she was going through the abusive conservatorship at the time. The imagery with cages, it didn’t all come together due to interference with Team Con but I can’t imagine any of her critics being able to create an album this good under those circumstances. 

People dont like to admit it but shes a GENIUS. She was SCREAMING about her situation via the visuals AND she gave us her best vocals on an album since ITZ, Blackout & Circus. This album was more than a masterpiece, it was her reclaiming her GLORY as an artist. Truly.

i mean, we're not going to convince each other. once writing camps went out of style, it became in the songwriters' best interest to market the music they write for pop stars as this hugely collaborative process because it sells better. songwriters say the same things about selena gomez, camilla cabello, and every other pop singer that very obviously only tweak minor things on virtually complete songs. it's actually nearly impossible to find any pop songs today where the singer does not have a writing credit. i don't know why you can't just enjoy britney for what she is without inflating her talents. but that's just my opinion, so carry on!

It's giving "source, trust me bro", somehow you think you're a more reliable source than the actual co-writers who were in the studio with her  I guess tell yourself whatever comforts you sis  Rather ironic that you decided to say it's now "nearly impossible" to find pop songs where the singer isn't credited, considering that there are eleven songs on Glory where Britney doesn't have a writing credit... so what, they faked writing credits on seven songs to add authenticity but didn't bother with the other 11?  Make it make sense. Nobody is "inflating her talents", I'm just not being a bitter hater that is talking nonsense and trying to discredit an artist's work based on their own prejudice and misinformation.

This was actually a very cute album! May want to revisit it again soon.

But writers have always said positive things about Britney and one even praised her for not taking credit on a song she didn't write unlike other artists.

 

Perhaps the conservators got more greedy with the credits or Britney actually was contributing in the studio which isn't hard to believe and I don't know why some people think that it is all this time later.

I didn't mean it in a bad way!

It was dated on arrival and sounded like radio hits from Selena Gomez and Julia Bieber from the year before. Most Britney albums including Blackout sound like radio hits from the year before.

No, it sounded full of Revival and Purpose rejects.

Yes!!! It’s one of my favourite albums from her but I’ve always felt it felt like two separate records sonically. DYWCO/SP/WHAT U WANT is like a completely different record to Better, luv me down, just luv me. 

I’ve always loved this album, sans Private Show and If I’m Dancing. It’s nothing spectacular, but it’s a really solid pop record.

It did what it had to do for her fans, if only the commercial performance rewarded her efforts better.

 

It aged wonderfully to me!
