It seems 2022 and 2023 have been bad years for miss Dua Lipa with way more misses and way less hits

Recently, with Dance The Night a song currently in the top 10 of TTH with strong presence in a lot of playlisting, the song is dropping out of the Top 100 Spotify chart and not showing much success in charts, and has failed to even crack the top 10 of her own home country.

 

Will DL3 be a big return to the top for her? Or will she fade into the background with her Albanian peers such as Ava Max and Bebe Rexha?

I literally thought Dance The Night was a remix from a song off Future Nostalgia so I'm not surprised it isn't smashing (even though it's been on repeat for me)

Because she hasn’t gone into album mode since 2021?  

 

Why is Dua constantly singled out for her droplets as if they HAVE to succeed, a lot of artists underperform with droplets inbetween album eras.

 

DL3 singles will obviously smash, she is Warner’s biggest priority and she has a lot of goodwill with the GP after the FN tour

All i see is feats, 5th and 6th single from a hugely successful era and a soundtrack single that sounded like a reject from her latest era.

Damn the pandemic messed with my perception of time Future Nostalgia feels like yesterday

3 meh songs (I actually love Potion but it never sounded like a hit) 

 

As soon as she releases a great single again (and she will for DL3) she'll be back getting GP classics, a department where she stomped on her peers during the last few years

Tired of Dua's sound. She needs to change a bit.

Tbh they just didnt sound like hits… DTN got potential but its kinda weak in comparison to her earlier singles

This is her Rihanna - Sledgehammer, her This Is What You Came For is coming

Dance The Night is far from flopping...? Sure, it's not a Levitating level smash but does it need to be? It's a soundtrack release.

 

Let's wait for the DL3 lead. I would think/hope her team has some incredible songs ready to go.

Meh I mean Potion and Sweetest Pie aren't big hits but they did alright. Dance The Night is doing ok. Radio play is helping the most to keep them from flat out bombing. I think her lead will do well though.

What is even the point of this thread ?

 

Dua Lipa's latest era Future Nostalgia was filled with big hits and she had Cold Heart in 2021 and 2022. She isn't even in an era and the songs have not been released by her

I have seen songs with worse peaks getting called a hit.

She's not Ava Max, a hitmaker

Shes clearly in her mixtape era in between album cycles. Shes gonna come hard with DL3, dont get too comfy ODHs

Releasing year-end-number-1s does that + having both of her albums as the top streamed female albums.

 The bigger the star, the bigger the target

I LOVE Dua but Future Nostalgia reminds me of Nelly Furtado's "Loose"

 

Both are very cohesive albums sonically and spawned a LOT of hit singles. 

when you release an almost flawless album full of hits you have the luxury to take a break
