Oh man. This is such a nostalgia trip. I bought all three of her albums in 2008 and her discography made junior high so much better. I still have her CDs as part of my collection sitting in storage . What I find interesting is that I always end up either disliking or being indifferent on two to three tracks off all three albums. So all three albums are a 9/11 or 9/12 as far as how many songs I like. It really just depends on which albums held up the best over the years.

 

Bittersweet World comes in dead last. It's nostalgic and the sound change wasn't totally bad at the time but a lot of the production aged pretty badly. I LOVE Little Miss Obsessive still and the lead single is still a bop. 

 

With I Am Me, the only two songs I disliked were Burnin' Up (a major dud) and Say Goodbye (a dud of a closer). Both singles have held up very well and I still love Coming Back For More, Dancing Alone, the title track, Eyes Wide Open and Catch Me When I Fall. 

 

With Autobiography, the first six tracks are a stacked up set of greatness. Love Me For Me through Unreachable I've always been very indifferent on so I skipped them back then and still would now, but they are honestly still better songs than Burnin' Up and Say Goodbye. I liked Nothing New and Giving It All Away but I like them less now than when I did as a teen. However, Undiscovered is one of Ashlee's Top 10 best songs and it's her only closing track that I actually like. 

 

I think I have to give it to Autobiography since overall it's a slightly better listening experience. Having a good closing track and having a cohesive set of songs that you don't skip for a bit really helps.

Ashlee is so underrated, she deserves a comeback

I Am Me has stronger tracks. I'm going to sing In Another Life for my husband at our wedding. But it also has weaker tracks like Burnin' Up.

 

Autobiography is a lot more cohesive and solid all the way through. 

 

Bittersweet World has about 4-5 solid tracks. The sonic shift was way too strong from IAM. I was stanning Ashlee in real time when she was dropping these albums and I was so confused as an 11yr old pop rock gay when she dropped Outta My Head

Not exactly true. It's aged the worst out of the three albums. That's all. Loved it when it came out but I revisit it the least of the three.

They're all great but Autobiograghy for me

Did you hear the bonus tracks from BW? Can't Have It All and I'm Out? They're really good.

How do you figure? The synth approach of BW is still popular a la Weekend and Ed Sheeran whereas pop rock (her first two albums) is completely irrelevant.
