Its simple - FY was authentic, fun and natural progression  from WYP. But with Pearls she tried to hard to give the gays everything to the point it seemed formulaic and stale

Omg, my exact thoughts reflected in a Jessie thread  I hope we eventually get more music like her first two albums, which are still my faves. I do love the recent output (esp. Pearls), but it doesn't stop me from being a little concerned about future direction.

I disagree, she gave us 3 albums plus 1/3 of WYP of that. She should explore that sound now rather than later. And I say this as someone who lives for her first 3 albums.

And based on what we know the new one will be her diva/camp moment and anthemic sound, so I wouldn't consider it the same.
