Ed doesn't have a devoted fanbase, he has the GP. Most people out there doesn't even know he has a new song out but they will as soon they hear it on the radio + when it gets the playlisting exposure on Spotify.

 

This happens with every other song by him and then out of nowhere it will get over 1b streams

If maybe you read what the thread is about you should learn Is Just about a weak debut tomorrow. 

Spotify payola will make sure it doesn't, unfortunately.

Not really. Bad Habits debuted in the top 5 in the US and #1 in many countries around the world. It was a hit since the first moment. ATRL just called a flop at first just because it didn't have a Shape of you debut.

 

 

His new single will be lucky to debut in the top 20 in the US based on these numbers

The GP might sleep on this but he only needs to come back with a bop and they'll stan again.

Bad Habits didn't have a strong debut on streaming either and still did extremely well. First days aren’t big indicators of success for him

You see it for Justin Bieber, Harry Styles, BTS (and the rest of K-Pop groups whose name I don't know)... That's why you can expect a big debut from them but not necessarily from Ed Sheeran

He will do his usual cd signings and get number 1 in the Uk. 

As someone already wrote his song with Bieber and shape of you were bigger from day one.

 

As someone already noticed too his last album already suffered of a low impact for the first single on day one (but still way Better than this at least on AM) and It dropped hard in terms of album tracks streams. 

 

So yes there are definitely a lot of chances for this Song to be a big hit but maybe it'also true there is a decline. Let'see in the next days and weeks.
