Arista/Legacy Recordings and Gaither Music Group in cooperation with The Estate of Whitney Houston have announced Houston’s gospel album, I Go To The Rock: The Gospel Music of Whitney Houston, will be available on 3/24. The first single, “Testimony,” was released today (2/9). The 15-track collection includes six unreleased songs, some from as early as 1981.

That is OBVIOUSLY not her singing lead but if you listen it almost sounds like she is singing background... i wonder if they are trying to salvage a rough demo and just put some random singer over top her old/unusable vocals.

its def a mix of her vocals with someone else's to boost it. its a bop tho, hopefully the rest of the unreleased tracks are of better quality. im guessing this is the 1981 vocals they talking about cause thats early Whitney shining through.

This sounds like a very young Whitney so this probably must be the music from 1981. The song still sounds so odd to me though  Her vocals sound auto tuned, the tempo of the track feels weird and the production (especially the vocal one) is odd as well. This low key should've stayed in the vault.
