This is clearly for them to make money off licensing / publishing. Needless to say, these are a mess and I’ll stick to the originals.

I’m assuming Lisa's estate didn’t give them permission to use her parts, which is why they are missing.

These were actually previously released on a greatest hits around the time of the biopic. Super old. I guess the label is just trying to cash in on some money.

These are new recordings, using her original recordings would incur in a sampling / copyright infringement if not approved by the label, defying completely the purpose of these new recordings.

 

 

 

 

I mean, they were totally screwed over in their career out of royalties and being paid what they should so I get wanting to re-record, but for me these songs aren't complete without Lisa

Props to TLC for doing this but the cover art isn’t even cropped properly. There’s a white border at the top and right edge.

These have been out since 2013 w the movie. They were originally bonus tracks on the Japanese-only GH release “TLC20”. 
 

Sony was so lazy with this release, they have so many outtakes from this shoot they could use, yet we’re getting the same FanMail shoot outtakes that were used to promote 3D

Yeah and it's royalties split between less people cause you can tell more of the vocals are theirs in these songs. 70% of No Scrubs isn't them in the original and the chorus of Creep wasn't them at all either. They've never known how to harmonize.

Chilli and Tionne are both present in No Scrub's chorus, alongside Kandi, Debra, and Tiny. The 2013 version might just be Chilli, Kandi and Debra in the chorus tho. 

 

Creep's chorus has Tionne and Debra, but Chilli is singing alongside them in the 2013 version. 

 

I do agree the girls never really harmonized by themselves tho, that's why I feel Debra was such a key part of their sound. She was the bridge between Tionne and Chili's voice.
