A warning letter from an employer? That's your evidence of persecution? That's what gays who work at Forever 21 and H&M used to get right here in LA and NYC in the past decade (and still do in more conservatives parts of the US) before recent legislation. :deadbanana2:

And he didn't receive that letter because he's femme. He got it because he painted his nails.

That said, I agree with your last point. There are no laws to protect you, which is awful. But is it as bad as these morons who have never traveled in their lives are pretending? No, it's not.

As if they are even considered ''femme'' by their employer :rip:, they are labeled as ''male'', it's an obligation when in fact they prefer to be outside the gender binary, and that's why they got the warning letter when they painted their nails..

In the conservative us states, the lgbt community are fighting for their rights and have no shame admitting it publicly, good luck doing the same in gulf countries..

They ALL HAVE PERFORMED in the UAE, so don't come here and say Beyoncé is different than the rest.

And there were many queer fans that attended this event also. So now what? Either you have an issue with artists performing in homophobic countries, or you don't. It's not an 'either/or' situation, so you can excuse your hypocrisy. Both feed into the economy of the country, both perform for queer fans in the country and both will be approved by the government to go ahead.

Its about classism and the queer community sweetie. Its not a black and white situation. Keep your stan blinders on though.

It's certainly about hypocrisy, we know that much. :heart2:

Was it also a private event?

Does that change the location?

I'm sure her slave ancestors are thrilled she performed for the opening of a new hotel built by modern day slaves. Just like how ecstatic her fans are over the fact she earned 24 million dollars, meanwhile they are going back to their wageslave job tomorrow, jamming to Beyoncé singing about quitting her 9 to 5 job. :spin:

Beyonce doesnt care about the LGBT community

She does and she has done more for the community than every ATRL user put together (including your hateful greasy ass). :sorry:

You guys really thought Beyonce cared about the gays that much?

Beyonce has always been a fake activist to sell her music, I'm not shocked at all.

I'm less shocked that you came in here to just straight up lie about her tbh. :toofunny3:

America is anti-LGBTQ so now what?

Really? We outlawed lgbt? We throw them from buildings? Burn them alive? Really. Get help. Lgbt never had it so good in America. And don’t you forget it.

Has Taylor Swift performed there? What would you say if she did? Selective outrage is cute.

It took the US 388399476 years to accept the gay community among other communities, it'll take time for an Arab/Muslim country to get there. For Arab standards, Dubai is actually very gay-friendly, I know many openly gay citizens/locals/expats living there, and they don't have any problems at all, neither with the authorities nor the public; they're happy, settled and have been living an amazing life. Enough of the idiocy and drama, and just because you're from a country that's accepts the LGBTQ community, don't expect a country that doesn't to follow suit overnight. God the shallowness.

Moreover, there are more gay murders happening the US and Europe on a yearly basis, than in Dubai/UAE.. Like much much much more.. We barely have any, if not at all..  Some of y'all really live in a deluded dimension.

To answer your question, yes, Beyonce slayed and rocked Dubai, do not mix politics with entertainment.

:rip:

The excuses and whataboutism in here. Yes she’s wrong, and other artists are wrong too, but Bey performing for elites is much worse than a pop star touring the UAE.

Why are Monsters in this thread on a high horse when their fave has performed there before :deadbanana4:

Why are we treating Dubai like Iraq or Saudi Arabia? There is a massive gay scene there :deadbanana4:

Speaking of Saudi Arabia, why has no one made a thread for BLACKPINK who just performed there literally 3 days ago :deadbanana4:

This "outrage" is so forced.

 Nnn

Pop Stars like Bey obviously care exclusively about the checks but it's actually a very good thing that progressive and open-minded celebs get more exposure in such countries. There's a reason as to why younger generations are becoming less and less radical.

How do you go from "I love Africans (Black Is king) and Gays (Renaissance) " to then go perform for people who own slaves and kill gay people.

If she's broke she needs to say that.

I just hope she stops with the fake activism now the check has cleared.

I assume the same reason why your fave has frequented Dubai so often, despite being passionate about her own blackness and queer allyship. Didn't Janet meet her Qatari ex-husband at a hotel opening in Dubai?

If you're going to claim Beyoncé's activism is fake, you sure better be holding your own fave to that same standard. We wouldn't want to be a raging hypocrite now, would we?
