Nowadays it's common to see fans make excuses for every shortcoming of the pop girls and brushing off any criticism whether it's valid or not. For example, Rihanna's lackluster Superbowl performance was looked over because of her pregnancy, and Taylor Swift's lipsync because of her wearing high heels or doing x many shows in a row or having an eating disorder at the time of a performance - whatever fits the narrative. This kind of thinking used to only be prevalent in hardcore stan communities, but now the GP spew the same tired excuses everytime. Idk, just seems weird to have people elevating these artists to God-like status and shower them in endless attention and millions of dollars, but once the crack shows they are suddenly normal humans like the rest of us, and expecting them to deliver is "heartless" and "cruel". Obviously we shouldn't strive to reach K-pop standards in treatment of famous singers, but holding them accountable should be positive start imo. In case you haven't noticed, labels have figured out that teenage girls grow up and stop spending money on merch, albums, concerts eventually but gays will still put on some Christina Aguilera song from 2002 on a random tuesday. That's why every pop girl tries to brand herself as queen of gays.
