if all older groups disband or get shelved then basically every single kpop group will die after their initial contract ends. 

If they’re no longer profitable then they totally should? Again, unless they join a smaller company or make their own label etc. 
 

Why would a company keep investing in something making no money (and very unlikely it will magically turn profit when it’s “expired”)

 

The only people who would not find that stupid are fans of those groups/soloists. 
 

SM has horribly managed their artists trying to juggle a roster of 20 active acts

The thing is, we, as kpop stans get 0 money from this at all, so do we really need to care about which acts releases and which doesn't? Just enjoy the music and that's it.

You act like hags get frequent releases or promotionthey just come, release once every two years and go back to their lives, the budget put into those comebacks is nonexistent lmao.

several older sm artists have said they get very limited budgets for their comebacks ffs  so its obvious sm is investing the bare minimum into older artists to keep the fans happy. super junior has their own sublabel under sm which they manage themselves ffs and that's what sm have said they are going to do with more older groups/artists. 

you literally just hate on most sm artists besides your faves unprovoked at this point and are using profitability as an excuse.
