the thing that made taengsic work so well is that they had a very heavy sounding main vocal (taeyeon) paired with girliest girl girl who could still sing her socks off (jessica) in a single lineup.

 

most girlgroups have vocal lines that either a.) have very similar vocal colors/tone (twice), or b.) have a terrible vocal line (lets not mention names)

Honestly they way Hybe is handling NJ and LSFM is just top notch they are always present even if they are not promoting on music shows

this, stans used to rag on them for being IG models first but the truth is that 5-10 years from now they'll be able to stand up on their own individually as Jennie, Rose, Jisoo and LIsa without the BLACKPINK k-pop idol brand behind them simply bc they're that big.

 

Any 1 of them is bigger than even the top of the tops K-GGs so I can see some of them (Jennie and Lisa specifically) becoming global celebrities, just serving looks at the MET Gala or NYFW with the occasional EDM collab/single with Pharell or Calvin Harris

im sure that their label is also trying to make sure they get their rest. notice how the nature of their variety content under HYBE is in some ways very relaxed and non strenuous for the idols themselves.

 

They have the occasional quest games and whatnot but most of it is just them having fun in a room or going on vacation (like the LSF goes to Jeju crap), they get to film content and have the idols rest and relax too a win I fear!

Given how much they're trailblazing in the U.S. for K-girlgroups I can see the Recording Academy paying attention to them simply because they're having so much longevity and their Spotify numbers are clearly insane, I mean an act that isn't even 1 year old having 2 singles in the Top 20 of Spotify?  even Ariana struggled with Spotify during the Dangerous Woman era!

they can delude themselves all they want but the moment LSF and NJ become HYBEs main moneymakers BTS' legacy act era is upon us! it counts only filtered streams, so song must be in the top 200, I believe (or top 100, I’m not sure if there is such difference between global and local charts)

now sis... the only reason the grammys paid attention to bts was for ratings. no other kpop group will get that treatment.

as a OBTSH I'm so happy BTS are finally seeing them come down from #1, those BoTS need to be humbled! FLOP solos, the botched Lollapalooza headliners, no hits, all payola + Shipped off to the military!

 

Now HYBE can actually focus on the girls with ORGANIC success, NewJennies! BLACKPINK deserves to be dethroned after all, terrible management, **** discography (aside from key bops!) My girls deserved BETTER!
