Taylor has made several serious mistakes in her last eras with her singles:

 

1- Not releasing Cruel Summer as the lead of Lover

 

2- Not releasing Exile as the lead of Folklore

 

3- Not releasing Champagne Problems as a single during the Evermore era.

 

4- Not releasing I Did Something Bad as the lead of Reputation.

 

5- Not releasing Don’t Blame Me as a single during reputation.

 

Which one was the worst mistake in your opinion?

Actually, not pushing I'm Only Me When I'm With You as a single from debut is her biggest mistake

Also, I Did Something Bad would’ve tanked. So many Swifties say it should’ve been a single, but I just don’t think it would’ve been even a minor hit.

This, LWYMMD was perfect

All the first 3 singles of rep were terrible as choices and as songs .

Ok LWYMMD is not that bad but I did something bad is what the first single should have been. Worst choice ever.

 

Probably not following up LWYMMD with a proper second single. Delicate, DBM or End Game would’ve done very well with a release just before the album and then a proper push with its release. Instead, they drudged up a promo single with zero radio viability, which was already dead, and just in general had nowhere else to go  

 

ME! might be awful but it’s the critical/public/fan response to that song that led her down the path of folklore and evermore. Plus it actually made sense commercially, way worse songs have smashed before.

The hype was so high everything would have been big. IDSM would have had better legs too. 

I don't think Cruel summer deserved to be a single. It's just a copy of OOTW, i don't get why is so hyped. I mean is better than the singles but Lover (song) would have been the better choice after the kind of sound of Rep.

the rollout was fine up until CIWYW which deserved to be a single Gorgeous coulda had a cute video.

they coulda done so much more visually with rep but at least the tour made up for it.

Look is the perfect lead single for reputation. I’m not crazy about the song but it just makes sense.

Exile deserved to be a single. It would have been much bigger than it is now.

Releasing LWYMMD and The Man

Cruel Summer, Exile, Enchanted, I Did Something Bad, All Too Well not being singles were all mistakes.
 

Although she kind of fixed All Too Well since the 10 minute version went to #1 although I don’t know if that technically was a single

OT: ME! > YNTCD is a career ending single sequence, she escaped cuz she's too powerful to be over like that + folklore made us forget about her crimes.

I wouldnt say ME! should be the biggest L of her career since had she chosen Cruel Summer AND smashed, I highly doubt we would get folklore. She'd probably go right away and give us Midnights in 2020 and that would've probably flopped for its standards.

 

Midnights is a great album but we can't pretend that a majority of its success now wasn't built on the backbone of Folklore, Evermore and RED TV.

Cruel summer would have been one of her biggest commercial smashes easily. A perfect transition from reputation era. Cardigan is arguably one of her best singles, even tho it sounds like an album track. But I think The 1 would have been a huge radio hit. It has adult contemporary crossover appeal
