To make things worse, the most streamed non single from the album only has 34m streams.

Fun fact: Billie's HTE (song) has more streams than the whole album.

So ATRL, what went wrong with Post Malone?

He's over, Doja is saving what's left of his career but it won't last unfortunately :cm:

And he can't sell tickets, can't sell albums, can't get solo hits, can't sing, can't dance, can't write, is panned. I fear retirement is the next thing on his book.

the only good single choice was I Like You

Cooped Up sucks, One Right Now is basic and the song with Kid Laroi is terrible lmao

Doesn't HTE have multiple album tracks over 100 million streams? I thought Post was bigger... I guess not.

He doesn’t make hip-hop music anymore or have their large following to fall back on anymore after using and abusing them like most culture vultures do :frown:  He had a decent run though, maybe he can jump to making country, rock or even brainless pop music like before:

Those seem like more of his speed and are surely more thought provoking, especially as it pertains to life, unlike hip-hop music which he claimed wasn’t. Maybe Bob Dylan will hit him up for a collab since he’s touched him in such a profound way compared to any hip-hop artist who Post modeled himself and his early mainstream music (career) after :coffee2:

This.  He really was just the acceptable white rapper for suburban kids to play at parties.  That lane is divided now (Kid Laori, Jack Harlow), and he has switched to a lane with more competition and fickle fans (radio pop).   True hip hop heads never really used him, so he doesn't have that small but loyal fanbase.  He lived and died by the radio.

Mess, I remember when I dreaded him releasing because each release was a guaranteed smash that was sure to have an overly long residency in the top 10.

It's the decline for me - it wasn't even subtle - he slayed the 2021 year end charts and 2022 the GP said no.

Twelve Carat Toothache (2022):

Peak: #2 (120k debut :deadbanana:) a 75% decline

Top 10: 3 weeks :deadbanana:

Hollywood's Bleeding (2020):

Peak: #1 (461k debut)

Top 10: 50 weeks

Top 20: 98 weeks

Year-End: #9 (2019), #1 (2020), #13 (2021)

beerbongs & bentleys (2018):

Peak: #1 (489k debut)

Top 10: 49 weeks
Top 20: 85 weeks
Year-End: #3 (2018), #5 (2019), #23 (2020), #50 (2021)

with this decline and @Post Malonewants to talk about Billie :deadbanana4:

The album is just... there. It lacks his obvious smashes, it's like a loop of filler tracks.

Pretty much.

His decline is insane though, given how many records he sold with his first 2 albums. :deadbanana4:

he produced album full of uninspired and unfinished ideas. and label decided to invest in someone else more recognizing that GP might be looking for 'fresh blood' which means even production didnt carry him on this album.

and whoever is mentioning features LOL he collabed with people that are already out of their peak era/their flop era.

roddy rich cant move numbers on his own, let alone posty. doja cat is old news. people are tired of her 'humor' also.

posty or label didnt invest in good feature  or were declined.
