I mean, duh? Apart from BTS, none of these idols have any streaming power. Their huge sales in Korea and Japan are the result of great packagings that are more like gadget kits with maybe some music in them. The songs themselves are just a small part of this entire marketing machine.

People need to stop comparing sales and say they should be doing that or this amount of streams. Most of her sales (i think at least half of them) are from Chinese fans and as you know they can't stream on Spotify or Youtube.  I'm sure the girls will be fine knowing album sales bring the real money and streams are just a measure of your reach worldwide as a group.

I think huge sales are mostly fan driven and from China   at least they get the coins

Not comparable to first week sales from western artists in a single country in one week. That 1.6M in pre-orders is global shipments. They sold ~850k on Hanteo so far this week.

The album sales represent the global fanbase. Not everyone around the world uses Spotify including China and Korea which are among their biggest markets. The fact they debuted on Spotify alone is still big
