You know damn well these days fan accounts know more about their faves sales and achievements than anyone.  And you know also that labels don’t care about certifications since they have to pay, they are that unbothered.

Hanteo is like Oricon in that it only counts physical sales from select retailers. Obviously they’re doing incredibly well if they can pull first weeks on par with all-time top Western acts.

Terrible argument. Britney Spears has never certified a multi-Platinum single in her career and Billboard has released direct sales numbers for hits like Toxic, Womanizer, 3, Till The World Ends, etc. that are more than eligible for multi-Platinum.

 

The average BlackPink song has over 1B+ streams. Of course they have multiple Platinum+ singles in the U.S.
