Why can't we move to an entirely new site? New server, new owner, new everything. It would take work but it's worth it if it means ATRL could actually have a chance at a successful future

We are wanting to explore any/all options before thinking about that.

4. There’s a random new mod like every month and the ones we get are struggling to set aside their personal faves from their mod duties + ZTP is only partially enforced + the extreme left mentality here is so sheepish.

There hasn't been any new mods added for over a year :rip:

there's kind of only so much you can say about 5 or so pop stars who are all either semi retired or over a decade past their peak, but there's no major appetite for discussion about any other music. but i guess that might be a symptom of no new users rather than a cause.

We grow up and we have families now :cm:

also pop culture is quite boring these days

I can barely even express myself without getting banned, both myself and another Jesy Nelson stan  @The Slayerboth got a 2 / 3 week ban the day before Boyz was released for defending her at the time, multiple users ganged up on us / posted vile comments about weight, mental health, appearance etc and to my knowledge they never got banned.

This, unfair bans.

the OG owner not giving the site completely to the current runners of this site, so they can't fix this 503 error.

Why haven't mods/admins thought to create an entirely separate ATRL 2.0 with new ownership like KanyeToThe successfully did with KTT2? It might be too late for that now though.

I feel they should of done that when they moved to the new server.  Yeah I can't understand why they didn't come to think of it. :gaycat6:

worse case members would of had to re make an account.

Way too strict.

Posting…

Spoiler

“LadySomething”

will get you a WP but saying…

Spoiler

BeyH*v

is somehow acceptable and not a clear violation of the ZTP :biblio:  harmless nicknames are taken more serious than a disgusting comment loaded with racist & discriminatory implications :frown:

The owner owns all ATRL branding, so if we ever left this forum we’d have to change the forum name amongst other things. Several mods are worried that a new forum with a new name in 2022 would not survive the transition away from here.

Makes sense though. Thanks for the explanation

1. Stan culture as a whole is an antiquated concept. Gen Z doesn’t “stan” people, they even prefer to “stan” unknown underground artists and be proud of that.

This is v true and the few people they “Stan” are not real celebs, it’s YouTubers, TikTok stars and other influencers. I actually think as gen z gets

older, normal celebs will get overtaken by influencers.

Yeah, the moderation is too strict & it feels like anyone with a big personality gets banned nowadays. The servers & dated theme were the final nails.

Also, it seems like newer artists are under-discussed or completely ignored lately. It's really boring seeing the same threads about Gaga, Katy, Britney, Taylor, and Beyonce over and over again

Lol I was gonna make a thread about it cause I’ve noticed how newer acts barely get discussed compared the upteenth stan war threads about the same old pop gurls we’ve had since 2010 :deadbanana4: the lack of new members might be the cause of it but some ppl around here definitely can’t seem to let it go :cupid:

Stricter than a catholic boarding school, like let people fight :rip:

My biggest threads got deleted at their peak and my feelings are still hurt

To be honest a certain other forum beginning with B and H was HILARIOUS in 2015 back when drags were allowed.

Activity has died down and posts like those in Ciara visits childrens hospital are no longer allowed. And thats no coincidence.

The 503 mess and very strict rules.

You’re not even allowed to drag something properly without getting WP’s. And when you finally found a way to stealth drag and you press “reply”, the 503 error slaps you in the face and ruins your moment.

It’s not fun.

The first iteration of the ZTP seems to have been the beginning of the end. So many people got banned because certain staff members twisted the rules in order to give out ZTP bans to people they just didn't like or for completely petty reasons, which reduced the site's member count. And since registration is only open a few times per year (if at all), there weren't enough new members to fill the void left by the banned ones.

Also the constant 503 errors that the various upgrades were supposed to fix but didn't are another problem.

Considering how much Slayer loves to give out warnings on BH to anyone who shades or even just casually criticizes Jesy, I think it's just karma coming back to bite them. :siptea: I'm sorry about your ban, though.

- Error 503's. It's been like this since old ATRL and that's embarrassing tbh.

- Repetitive threads. How many times are people going to ask "What happened to Katy?", make a Surprised/Why? thread or yet the 15258347th Gaga stan war thread.

- Overly strict moderation at times. Some of us just like to keep it real and don't intend to be derogatory.

- Pop culture today is less interesting. A lot of the new acts are mediocre while the older/established ones no longer release regularly or have moved on from music completely.

- A lot of threads from when new ATRL commenced have been completely wiped for the purpose of eliminating Error 503's yet it's still around and active than ever. A tragedy.

Nothing really happens. We used to have artwork and song leaks a couple of times a day and now it's just release dates and confirmation of roll out plans

Pop culture is pretty boring and has been for a while

503 errors, this website stays stuck in the early 2000’s

Insufferable stanbases

If you're defending Jesy Nelson of all people you're pretty much asking for it. :rip:

Social media changed, so forums aren't no longer a big factor in the online pop culture discourse + pop culture changed, it all got decentralised and ATRL thrived better when we had these larger-than-life celebs doing all sort of messy and iconic stuff.

Also the same thread topics are recycled once every day :skull:
