For the longest time LAP/LAV were the quintessential Madonna classics, but it looks like the tides are changing  Why? 

LAV and MG are her most quotable and in many ways most iconic hits.

 

While La Isla and Vogue are probably the songs people will listen or stream in full more, MG and LAV are miles more iconic from their choruses alone.

It would take a lot more than passing it on Spotify for MG to pass LAP

ha most self-hated sing did that thx to ha haterz.

Love her but Material Hag is unlistenable. Thank God she has a dozen of other hits to perform.

If Stranger things didn't exist it wouldn't surpass Like a Prayer. 

The answer is no. 

Like a Prayer had more physical sales, digital sales, etc... Material Girl is simply more meme-like. That's all.

if anything this shows the irrelevance of spotify/tiktok in the long run

LAP is almost always gonna be heralded as her best song/one of her best songs and be listed among the greatest songs of all time so there’s that 

Wow I didn’t know they passed 300m!

 

but no, MG had a viral moment and it’s one of her signature hits, but it doesn’t have a stronger legacy just cause of TikTok.  

When Madonna dies...Like a Prayer will be the song that hits #1 on streaming, sales etc.

Material Girl is one of my least favourite Madonna singles tbh, while LAP is easily one of the best songs in her discography

Both are classics! 

Material Granny can stay quoted by kids on TikTok while Like a Prayer will remain a legendary classic.

Same.. i'm from PH as well and yup the GP dont use Like A Prayer or La Isla Bonita here

 

Music felt bigger than Vogue for me.. idk, and Give It To Me felt bigger than Hung Up lmfao
