Ashley Tisdale: What went wrong?

Featured Replies

She never saw the success of Miley, Ariana and Selena despite the fact that her music was much better and she can outperform all of them. I never understood how she flopped??

Her music wasn’t better though and she is so one-dimensional as a person. Nothing that sparks interest has ever come from her.

Same as Vanessa. Dunno they both have better albums then most of these pop girls.

Talent always flop

She wasn't signed to Hollywood Records, so she was ignored by Disney by default.

Secondly, I think Warner thought the HSM wave would help her music career, so they did nothing.

Vanessa has two good songs, though.

Demi, Ariana, and Miley are better singers, and Ashley didn't have Selena's label support

She was never pushed to the same extent to be a recording artist?

Well she only released two albums before disappearing and then released another album ten years later that she really didn't promote all that much and then disappeared from music again.

She has stopped releasing music. Has she been dropped? She can choose another label but she didn't.

She said (multiple times actually)in 2012 that she will release something new but she didn't until 2019. Music is not her priority.

Sexism and misogyny :gaycat1:

She gave us two incredible albums:matty:

All the highschool musical singers weren't big enough for a solo career in music without help. They needed some collabs and heavy promotion which their labels didn't offer. It's different from the other Disney girls who had their own show basically promoting their music for years on TV.

I just looked her stuff and it's horrible. :rip:

It's throwaway music

This was such a bop lol

wait this is a Warner song? when Ava samples it It's over for us :jonny5:

She focused more on other stuffs after parting ways with Warner. The follow-up also took 10 years so there's that.

Even as a kid I knew she was severely untalented as a singer. I still remember her very obvious lip syncing during a Christmas special. She also had her real singing censored when she made an appearance on Punkd and she was singing to a sick child. :rip:

She honestly picked terrible projects after her Disney contract was done. Disney didn’t invest a lot money in her as individual because she wasnt signed to them compare to selena and Miley. Plus she was majorly reliant on high school musical persona. She needed a good team behind her who could help her at best become a hit maker with some bops. It’s the same thing with Vanessa none of the girls could do it on there own. They needed a big machine management wise behind them for a couple of years to truly take off. Miley and Selena may not be the most talented pop girls but they sure had a massive team to help them out in  Every decisions for at least several years until the truly established themselves.

Girl… Say Ok, Come Back To Me, Let Go, Drive, Psychic, Don’t Ask Why, Gone With The Wind, Vulnerable, Lay With Me are very good songs

I'm not sure but this was a bop. Miss Tisdale had me seriously gagged with this, I thought she was going to blow up for sure. :WAP:

He said she said and Headstrong were kinda meh/cringey. I actually didn’t mind Not Like That or Suddenly but overall her debut album was pretty bad. She then release It’s Alright, It’s Okay which was a complete and utter rip off of P!nk’s So What which was still receiving some radio play at the time. Her second album had some good songs on it though. Crank It Up was fun and was rumored to have a remix with Jason Derulo coming out but I guess they cancelled it due to lack of interest.

unfortunately, her HSM fame just didn’t translate.

"What if" is Insane

One of the most nostalgic high school songs ever imo
