Why is Shrek 3 so disliked?

Featured Replies

I never knew it was SO disliked.  The movie remains unbothered with 800M box office and an additional 170M earning from CD sales.

It was not as good Shrek 1 and Shrek 2 but still.

Shrek 4 was horrible though.

Because even at 10, I knew it was a steep decline from Shrek 2. I laughed so much when I saw Shrek 1 and 2, but I remember hating Shrek 3 and leaving disappointed

It was cute (I remember owning the CD as well :allears:).I never knew it was hated

maybe it was a decline from the second movie? personally i love the movie :michael:

Did you like Shrek 4? I mean it was worse than 3. I was even more surprised that 4 was considered an upgrade from 3. :rip:

It got too complicated with too many overlapping storylines and too many characters.

I remember disliking it as a kid,  I think because I didn’t care for the Arthur dude or whatever, and cause nothing will touch Shrek 2, but it honestly isn’t bad.

No I’ve never seen it. I aged out by that point and don’t really have a desire to ever watch another Shrek project other than 1 and 2.

I like it lol, I rewatched it last year but maybe that’s because I was in HS so I liked them having one in the movie. It’s far better than Shrek 4

The scene with the princesses and the Led Zeppelin music is the only scene I remember

I prefer it to shrek 1 and 4 but it’s not as good as 2. I find it to be the funniest one tho, I really dont get the hate

It is TRASH and its still TRASH. The whole movie made me want to sleep as a kid.

Did you see Shrek 4?  If so did you like it?

Which one is the third? The worst, for me, is the one with Rumpelsistinks. The best is the first one. The other I don't like much is the one Shrek meets Fiona's parents and becomes a human.

The third ones is with the princesses. The worst one you mentioned is the 4th. And I agree with you.

I've watched all four movies with my nephew and he likes all of them. Me too. So, I don't know. People are hard to please sometimes. :michael:

I prefer 4th to the 3rd tbh, and no shade for the original will be tolerated

Justin Timberlake

Jk the princesses were iconic though

This tho

Timberlake his power!

Anyway, it was just ok but a downgrade for the other 2, the 4th is the messiest one.

its not as funny or interesting as the first two so it was just a noticeable decline

also the new characters were annoying or useless, especially Arthur... it was hard to bring myself to care about his storyline when he has nothing to offer
