Some or them are really talented (Zendaya) but you can tell they are all connected and pushed by the same source.

In hollywood it's not the same thing.

People without connections don't even get into interviews and auditions.

Being an 'industry plant' as an actor is kind of different because you (most of the time) need to be good for a casting director to want you, but having connections/friends in the industry can at least get you auditions or let the important people know your name when starting out.

Florence Pugh. It's suspish how quickly she landed all those "mainstream movie being marketed as an indie movie" roles and it was clear her team is really trying hard to make her a thing. She isn't memorable or even good at acting or emoting imo. That scene where she cries in Midsommar just looks silly, hence why it became a meme.

Obviously nepotism is rampant in any area of the entertainment industry. 
 

That aside, I think the people who look the most like “plants” are the ones who book lots of notable roles in quick succession (ie: Alicia Vikander with Ex Machina and Danish Girl), people who get cast in multiple franchises despite being relatively unknown (ie: Sam Claflin with Hunger Games and Pirates of the Carbbean), people who have acting careers because they were already “famous” in another field (ie: Cara Delavigne and Nolan Gerard Funk), and people the industry keeps trying to make happen no matter how often they flop (ie: Theo James, Brenton Thwaites, Armie Hammer, Ansel Elgort…). Some of that may just be down to them having extremely effective managers, or because the industry makes a coordinated effort to give them a big breakthrough, or because they have pretty privilege.

Agree with this 100%.  She is a terrible actor yet keeps getting pushed into every big film it seems like.

I don’t think she’s all that either but saying she can’t act is a bit too much 

I don’t mind them as long as they have the talent to support it. 

All the industry plants I can think of have a terrible story of abuse behind them so Imma stay quiet. BUT, this was a SHAME I still can’t believe they snubbed Montenegro for Gwyneth lmao she was lucky to even be nominated, now getting the award was waaaay over the top.
