Ah it looks like they’re old track lists! I loved everything now, they did the disco thing perfectly and before pop made it a “trend” again like 2 years later, that album deserves more than the lame hipster reviews it got. I’m excited for this one though, it’s like they’re old style but improved, critics say it’s their best in years so I can’t wait!

The critics seem to be enjoying this one more than Everything Now (I never got it, because EN is a great album despite having "Chemestry" on the tracklist). Anyway, it looks like it's going to be another album that will divide fans.

Wait, did they just release their best album ever? It's quite outstanding on first listen, but it could be just how much I missed them so initial excitement. But this album is BEAUTIFUL.

It's already a fact that it's going to be ranked so much lower just because of Everything Now (which I love, btw) and because it's now cool to hate them just like it was cool to praise them as the best group ever existed with their first records.

very excited for this in a few hours, The Lightning I & II are both beautiful

ok lets make two perspectives, im not serious.

old fan - stripped down version with less annoyance ABBA inspire dance from last LP. mature and serve what suppose to please them.

zoomer fan - the lack of experimental sounds turns into dull standard old album, pretty lean to released singles than album tracks

imo i love "sagittarius" and "race and religion", very well cohesive and great listen.

I hate the fans that say this (I know you're not saying that yourself) because "Everything Now" is easily one of their best songs. They do pop REALLY well. "Reflektor", "Rebellion (Lies)". They can be catchy as **** when they want to be. Them leaning into it doesn't make it crap.

First time listening to this band. Good album.

You need to listen to The Suburbs next (one of the best albums of all time) :jonnycat:

This sounded much better on my second listen

Totally agree, I'd go as far as saying Everything Now > Reflektor. (I mean the single, but IMO the albums aren't even that different in quality). WE sounds like Reflektor with no fillers, therefore I think it's a stronger output from them.

Can't wait to listen to this over the weekend. Love The Lightning I & II, one/two of my most played song(s) this past month.

It’s a pretty good album, but I’m not blown away or anything. Their first 4 albums blew me away. We’ll see cause WE is really growing on me. The second listen was far better than the first after my expectations vanished and I was a bit disillusioned by what I thought it was gonna be. Rabbit Hole is really good - I’ve been kinda obsessed since I heard it live - and it doesn’t have a ton of standout tracks, but it is consistent and has pretty and subtle songs. I will keep listening all weekend and see how I feel. I think I like this more than Everything Now, but less than everything else in their discography. We’ll see how that changes, though. At least this album bucks the trend of having every subsequent album of theirs decrease in quality (the difference between Funeral, Neon Bible, The Suburbs, and Reflektor was minute, but that nosedive of quality into Everything Now was real).

on my nightwalk, and just put it on for my first listen

that first song is exceptional :clap3:
