Olivia Rodrigo - "serena joy"
This is insanely catchy, I see why it doesn't fit You Seem Pretty Sad though. Her voice is very 2010s pop here
- What's your favorite album of this summer?

Olivia Rodrigo - 'you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love'
Forget the VMAs, the real Interscope fumble is Spiderman. The two songs that are actually in the movie are smashing even though they're by semi-Khias

Olivia Rodrigo - 'you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love'
At least it doesn't seem to count for metacritic, but yeah annoying

Olivia Rodrigo - 'you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love'
That Tame Impala song used in Spider-man keeps climbing up the charts. It should have been Stupid Song, it would have worked so well in those MJ scenes. Or even Maggots. So baffling

Olivia Rodrigo - 'you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love'
Some film critics said on twitter that there's no Olivia song lol. Why all the teasing and stuff then? Fumbled

Olivia Rodrigo - 'you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love'
What's even more annoying is that Uncut almost never reviews pop albums, they didn't even review Brat or HMHAS I think?

Olivia Rodrigo - 'you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love'
Yeah I expected it to only go down 1 point. 87 is still an amazing score though especially considering what other pop releases were scored this year

Im still manifesting Maggots ft Zendaya and during the film a parallel montage between Tom H and Zendaya both listening to Maggots on the radio and dancing along or singing along in the car, and then they bump into each other or something. ahh the delulu

"yspsfagsil" Review Thread | 89 MC | 86 AOTY | P4K 8.3/BNM!
90 from NME, kinda hoped for 100 to stabilise this in the 90s on MC. Are there any other publications that should still be giving scores?

Olivia Rodrigo - "the cure"
Hmm, dreamy/hazy doesn't sound like a banger so Im readjusting my expectations in terms of how commercial it will be. Im sure it will deliver quality wise

Olivia Rodrigo - "the cure"
Stop the count, the real lead is here
- Drop Dead exits top 10 on Global Spotify. OR3 off to a shaky start?
-
Olivia Rodrigo - "drop dead"
Most new songs hitting number 1 in the 10s were generic af, it's just that now it's becoming increasingly difficult for established artists to release a new song that captures people's attention. Looking at the top 20 on Spotify over the past year it's so clear that listeners are hijacked by nostalgia culture which is permeating every level of social media. And it's just getting worse. It's not like Beauty and the Beat is an avant garde masterpiece lol. Everybody just hates the current era we're living in right now because everyone is suffering (at least) financially. And that's my macro theory on why this song could be doing better lol
- What is the best single from pop bible "Loose"

Olivia Rodrigo - "drop dead"
Just watched the new videos. The song is really good. I do think the reason why it's not connecting as well as it could is the imagery, which I have to say is quite high school and not really in line with her image during the festival era last year. She had a more rock-ish, outspoken about politics, brings The Cure on stage kind of persona so I think many people were surprised that the first offering from her follow up album is so saccharine? That said the album is very likely going in multiple directions sonically. Lets see what happens at SNL in terms of song choices, but I think I also agree she should have dropped the entire album at once with two leads.

Does the TOTC prediction take into account vinyls and website sales?

Olivia Rodrigo - "drop dead"
First listen: oh no my fears came true, this falls flat Second listen: I see the vision, the melody in the chorus is great but it sounds so messy. Love the Cure/Kate Bush/Wolf Alice/Good Luck Babe influences though! Third listen: triumphant MEGA HIT

ROSALÍA f/ Björk & Yves Tumor - "BERGHAIN"
Ok based on the preview I was already expecting a little edge, a little pop, something different, but this is a whole GAG

HDD: The Life of a Showgirl 4.005M, breaks Adele's record
Is the global first week record going to be broken too? I think 25 did 5.7 million or something

Taylor Swift - What went wrong?
Can't remember her having two mediocre albums in a row. Last time that (almost) happened she pulled herself together and did Folkmore and Red TV (which are the main reason for her current commercial super-success). I say 'almost' because there are some heartfelt pop gems on Rep and Lover (Cornelia Street, Afterglow, Call it what you want etc) that are nowhere to be found on TTPD and this latest release. I'm not going to comment on her public persona because I don't think that should be relevant, but she really sounds like she has nothing new or important to say in 2025 compared to 2019-2022

The Beaches - 'No Hard Feelings'
This is so catchy
