I think this album should’ve come out in June tbh. Maybe her physical sales will help pad her total numbers out a bit for her in the US & UK?

Yeah it's kinda funny she led the album with the best song and then followed it up with the worst song Even if Grrrls wasn't meant to be a proper single or anything they could have released ANYTHING else and have it be better promo if they were saving 2 Be Loved for its own single campaign after ADT starts to die down (I assume).

 

I have like the exact same feelings on this as I do CILY. Love/like half the songs, hate the other half. I suppose I might appreciate this album more since it feels really sincere, like the title track especially. Very happy ADT is smashing at the very least.

at least the album campaign is getting easier now along with her tour promo. let's see if they decided to final push ADT to secure the ultimate goal then we care about other promo later.

 

We just need ADT to go number 1 idc if the album flops. If we're all being honest with ourselves it's not that good.

 

Honestly, if I had to describe this album in one word I’d say “uncool”. Sonically the record is perfectly fine, but some of the lyrics just sound lame. And it doesn’t help that the album is fairly one note. I feel like it’s definitely something that appeals to housewives or single women in their late 30s-early 40s, but most of the album isn’t stuff I can appreciate unironically. 
 

This just feels like a big step down from her previous efforts.

Lizzo's last album peaked at #30 on UK Albums Chart. i think she is not as popular as some people think. when she released 'About Damn Time' she only had 11-12M monthly listeners on Spotify.
many people expected songs from Special to have more streams because 'About Damn Time' is so popular. but viral song on tiktok won't make people interested in your project. Gayle's abcdefu reached over 5M streams on Spotify but when she released EP her 5 other songs received less than 450K streams in total on its first day.

It's a good album. highlights for me are About Damn Time, Everybody's Gay, 2 B Loved, Coldplay and Special.

Break Up Twice, If You Love Me, Naked and The Sign are the other decent ones.
