Um WOW, that Lauryn Hill sample hits SO WELL in Break Up Twice, instantly becomes a fave once it connects.

 

This album is def a good replay value for me.

"If You Love Me" might be her best ballad for me imo.

yeah but in the last few years mid albums like montero and good news also got 85s it just doesnt feel representative of the presented work

There are a few goods songs, but overall I was super disappointed, especially after her music pre top 40 fame.   Maybe I need to listen again

 

I was shocked when she said she wrote 170 songs for the project, these were the best tracks?

 

2BL is a huge smash though, best song on the album

Were at the turn of music right now, those albums are iconic moments for those artists. Montero is literally a moment in time for an artists like Nas, we dont see that AT ALL and the content alone being on mainstream radio waves means something.

thats a bad example as montero is pretty good album and lilnas x is iconic and revolutionary in many many ways. 

 

i do agree in general sometimes they do overhype someone or underhype, but for most of the time and over time (when users and critics combine) its pretty accurate.

It could be that she changed the theme/direction of the album.

 

BlackOutZoned here said that the first version of the album had LOTS of features

 

Cardi on Rumors, Megan Thee Stallion collab was the first original lead, etc.

About Damn Time is about to hit the ceiling of radio

 

Send "Am I Ready" as a follow up in the next week or 2 imo

87 on Metacritic with 5 reviews now, was it that 75 critic score that brought it from 90 to 87?

That key change in 2BL is fire

 

 

Good album. 2B Loved, Everybody's Gay, and Birthday Girl are my favorite album tracks.  2B Loved screams a single for pop radio while she could save Coldplay or Break Up Twice for R&B.
