In stats, and internationally, yes. 

But it's hard to compare generations just on raw stats because of the general growth of K-pop. SNSD lasted longer in terms of their run of hits and GP relevancy, and I would be shocked if Nayeon's solo career comes anything even close to Taeyeon's success. Most individual members of SNSD have had a lot of solo success in the years since 2017 (in various fields), too, and I'm not sure we will be able to say the same for Twice members after 2025 (equivalent year for them)

 

So I ask, do they really have as great a legacy in Korea? I don't think so. Even Blackpink, monumental as they are, struggle to match SNSD's level of industry impact.

Daily reminder SNSD used to outsell the boy groups of their gen, and no other girl group could come close to their sales, TWICE album sales can't even be compared to nugus like Enhypen or TxT I agree that they are kinda bigger in Japan however SNSD's album sales and overall peak are unmatched I fear.

Sorry but BP literally created clowns, now of half of these GG are doing girl crush, these new idols mention Jennie as their idol. Back in day bagging a luxury brand wasn’t very important now most of them are doing brand deals because it’s seen as a big metric to determine your popularity. 
Twice were called the king of GG, because they were matching with BG‘s sales, it took them less than a year to become the NGG, cheer up was #1 song of the year. Who cares if they don’t outsell enhypen lol it’s not like SNSD is the best selling group of their generation. I’m not gonna talk about their Japanese‘s dominance they’re unmatched here and SNSD or whatever aren’t touching them in japan.

Nation‘s Girl Group Poor others who only lasted for 3 years 

 

 

Difficult to compare pure numbers considering how global and explosive kpop album sales have been 2017-18 onward (when SNSD ‘disbanded’ for their solo endeavours. SNSD outsold top boy groups and had comparable success digitally with other top successful girl groups. They were the top girl group in touring and achieved immense success it, not to mention the each members presence in the industrih, I’m convinced given how palpable their success in peak years, they were the ‘BTS’ in terms of success and impact in 2nd gen era.

Taeyeon has more unique listeners on Melon and quickly outpacing Twice overall streaming numbers there, she either has or is close to surpassing Twice numbers on Gaon. That is just one member of SNSD, we haven’t talked about Yoona’s movies and Yuri’s dramas yet.

 

Here we have Aespa selling more than Twice’s best selling, are they bigger overall? No.
