Ironically, I think Taeyeon solo career cannibalized all the music buyers in the SNSD fanbase. None of the other girls can sell many solo albums except her and SM knows that. Oh well. 

Yoona and Tiffany (and even Seohyun) sold well given the sales climate at the time, and Yoona did not even promote her album, it's more like a gift to the fans

The fact that his face reminds me every single time of JYP is a huge turn off.

What's shocking? She's never been one of the most popular members, The new songs are awful, and there's some old old singles tacked on there. At least she gets to promote and release music she likes.

But honestly even if she is guilty, what is exactly is she supposed to do? Spend the rest of her life in jail cause she was a bully when she was 12?  I don't care if she goes or stays, but if she's nice now and treats the people around her well then let her be.

 

Idol is a job like many other after all. Would the accusators go to her boss to complain if she was a librarian or worked in a bank instead? This was obviously done out of jealousy to her. 

Idols are not the same as singers/artists in Korea.

 

They are seen as people young fans look up for, that's why it's "idol". Having an idol with a character/behaviour would be a very bad example to set. I agree it's a very weird concept for us westerners but it's something well known in korean kpop culture and that's how the companies capitalize on groups so it's well known to trainees and idols.

 

Many of kpop fans are still young and buy their stuff with parent's money. Would you as a parent want to give money for your child to buy the album of a bully? That's also the other side.

 

Celebrities as a whole rely on at least a bit of public adoration so a lot of people don't like supporting problematic people. There are many jobs/professions that don't require that so it's not the same as librarians or bankers. Society doesn't see a librarian on TV as the face of glamour, money or something you thrive to be.

Yoona was highly frontloaded and the sales fell off. Tiffany and Seohyun underperformed considering they were also a part of TTS. 

 

Besides Taeyeon, I'm cackling that Jessica is the only other SNSD soloist with a Melon #1 and good physicals, and this is after she got forced out and the company blacklisted her
