Okay so here are some of my loosely organised thoughts on the show I saw last night in Bristol. As excited as I was for Fire To Your Plain, Iieee is obviously the superior song and opener. I knew we w

sisters, I will be listening to that album in a couple of days, how much will I hate it? I'm scared looking at fans'/stans' takes on it

If there's on thing you can count on is that nobody can agree on the good albums/good songs post Scarlet. I tried again recently, and I don't like abnormally. It really drags for me, but I do think Give is a great song, as is Lady in Blue and Ophelia. I could love Welcome to England in a universe where Mark wasn't playing cheesy guitar on it (though I suppose it fits, since it's a song about their relationship). But still an absolute earworm.

I finally listened to Tori and the Muses (in the gym, randomly) and was pleasantly surprised. The production was surprisingly fresh for a children's album, I think Building A Mountain could have replaced Spies on O2O and I wouldn't even notice. Rain Brings Change could also be a studio album song if she reworked the lyrics slightly to be less on the nose.

If everybody would just listen to what I've been saying and preaching and …

just learned Unrepentant Geraldines has a higher metacritic score than Native Invader

oh this masterpiece is in my top 30 most streamed tracks ever clap3

this morning I'm listening to From The Choir Girl Hotel in full for the first time in 2 years and wow, what an album

the negativity for this performance, people commenting how she's lost her voice and she has developed a tremor, the internet is really vilerip

A woman aging really gets the worst out of people. As if she doesn't know these things herself, why else would she invite backing singers for the first time … that little clip where she improvises a rendition of the rolling stones though; I could never get tired of watching that. We're so lucky a piano talent like her fell in love with pop music.

that live version posted above is like crack to me

Oooof, that was a hard listen. Definitely her worst album til now for me, some of the songs are unbearable. Her vocals are produced in such a cheap way, it felt like she was muffled rip also most of the lyrics were....choices, to be lenient. These were what I kept:

Give

Strong Black Vine

Flavor

Curtain Call

That Guy (production and melody won me over)

Abnormally Attracted to Sin

Mary Jane

Fast Horse

Ophelia

You're through the worst, sis. I know, the problem with that album is really how her vocals are produced. Don't listen to Midwinter Graces till december (It makes no sense now) and make sure that if there's a song you don't like on Night of Hunters, you try its instrumental version. (I adóre my version, but the all vocals version is exhausting). And from Unrepentant Geraldines on you really get at least an amount of great tracks each release.

you telling me this as "Annabelle" rambles on SnowBlind

Finished Night of the Hunters as well. Exhausting, but in a totally different way from AATS. Shattering Sea, Nautical Twilight, Ghost, Star Whisperer are discography highlights.

I like Maybe California, although I know the lyrics are not amazing. The melody is so beautiful to me!

the melodies are not the problem. lyrics and vocal process is so jarring

I'm doing a listen of Gold Dust (album) now (veeerrrry slow Saturday) and the way the instrumental is slaying but the voice seems to be recorded with tinfoil wrapped around her face is so weird rip
