It would've been weird to drop a ballad as the theme song of a Smurfs movie, that's probably why

I didn't even wanna go to see this movie (I hate Smurfs) but with this song there? maybe I'll consider it

I see the logic in this and I agree but literally anything, even a ballad, would have been better than Friend of Mine

"Friend of Mine" isn't the greatest, but I still like the song. The new snippet of the song "Anyone" sounds amazing. When I heard it a few hours ago, I felt like something was coming off my shoulders.

 

I didn't have a great week. I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis a few years ago, and this week my symptoms got really bad, so hearing a new song from RiRi really helps me feeling better a little bit.

 

I'm thankful for that. It came at just the right time, during a very difficult and uncomfortable moment in my life.

Honestly, Anyone isn't that great. Her vocals sound smooth gosh love her tone! But the song itself is nothing great.

Born Again was added to the Black Panther soundtrack later on, when the film came out. I guess they're doing the same thing with Anyone (so it should come out this Friday?)

 

Btw most of the songs played in the film are not even on the album... only 4 songs from the album are in the movie (Higher Love, Tyla's song, James Corden's song + Friend of Mine in the end credits)

Looks like "Anyone" is the song they'll be campaigning for the Oscars/Golden Globes, it seems to be the core of the film.

 

Friend Of Mine doesn't play in the movie, only in the end credits, so it's not even eligible (not that it had a chance anyway 😭)

Wonder if she has a girl she will name it Rain ☔️

her releases really scare the **** out of me…never in my life, would I have thought, not liking new rihanna songs back to back.

 

this little snippet gives me hope, that she hasnt lost it completely. 
it 100% sounds like rihanna; a mix between Fading & Complicated

hopefully she gets into the Golden Globes for Animated Feature and Original Song. I doubt she'll get into Score but that would be nice too. I won't hold my breath for the Oscars because they don't like the Smurfs franchise usually.
