I personally feel she was ahead of her time. All the hurt from that relationship was still so fresh yet she managed to push on with such an evocative way to start a new era. No one outside of the navy talks about it enough (well judging from my own POV).

One of her best songs and videos...I actually heard this on radio like a week ago, my country always stanned it. 

 

It's sad how she basically dumped the song after it flopped in the US (it did flop despite the top 10 peak)... I remember she stopped performing it mid LGOE tour, which was a tour for Rated R and never performed it since  

I think the problem with the song was that it was a ballad and no ballad did well in 2009-2011 (until Adele brought ballads back with Someone Like You)

 

Also George Michael covered the song on his last tour which proves the quality

It smells bad ngl. Not even masculine. I gave it to my mom but even she didn’t like it so it just sits on her dresser unused. 

The way we probably won't hear from her again until November when she posts the first pics of Baby Fenty #2....
