Well it's so obvious she is so over music industry...

 

She only did Lift Me Up and that other song Born Again because she probably got paid a disgusting amount of money by the movie producers who saw how awaited her new music was... She even sacrificed her huge hype for a random sountrack.

I think the same applies with the Superbowl. There's a reason she did it this year and not many previous years. She just made a better deal that was worth to her... 

And no, I don't believe the "she didn't get paid for superbowl" and "she did superbowl because she wanted a challege" crap...

 

Anyway let's look at Anti and how much crap she went through. I feel like that era was sabotaged a LOT. Look at the whole AntiDiary mess, 3 pre-album scraps, the numerous delays, the whole Tidal and Kanye executive producer fiasco, she probably had to fight to get it even released and then it was botched with the 460 sales etc. Despite getting all of the plaques in the USA thanks to Spotify, I feel like Anti kinda underperformed especially internationally. She wasn't given budget for LOTB video, other videos looked cheap etc. She also probably didn't really enjoy making the album overall (she didn't give any interviews about the album itself, she only said that she was feeling numb and blocked making it )...

 

The same with the touring. It probably feels like a wasted time right now. She can make the same money by selling make up instead of getting exhausted and sick by constant travelling in the bus, with multiple other people and parasites getting the cut too. Most of the tour she appeared too late and didn't try very hard.

 

So the conclusion is that as long as we don't have some kind of "samsung" deal where she gets a lot of money for putting out the album, we ain't getting it  

 

 

 

And also let's not forget she decided to start a family with 2 kids. That will be a LOT of work to take care of 2 toddlers (especially with a father like that  ). She will barely have time for her make up let alone going to the studio or promoting the album. Touring is out of question. I guess we will have to wait for like 5 more years minimum

Ah yes I've been missing the essay meltdowns. I'm not sure why some of ya'll are fixated on music again, she's heavily pregnant and music obviously won't be on the cards till 2024  

 

Anyway, if you gonna have a meltdown at least make it make sense

 

1. ) Rihanna first and foremost featured on soundtrack as a tribute to Chadwick Boseman AND to support the cultural importance of the films.. not for money (there's also no point talking theoretically since we don't know if she got paid or not for it).

 

2. ) It was basically confirmed (i.e. Gladstonbury and Coachella) that Rihanna was going to release more music this year prior to the pregnancy. She was not pregnant when she agreed to do the SB. She obviously didn't get paid to do the SB, HOWEVER I do personally think her main motivation for doing the SB was the marketing and promotion for Fenty Beauty / Savage. 

 

3. ) Anti was like 7 years ago, why is that relevant now? She obviously loves the album I'm not sure how you came to those conclusions 

 

4. ) As for touring, that is a bit questionable because I didn't see her doing a full world tour and I couldn't see her doing one like the rumours suggested prior to her pregnancy. It would of been like 20-40 shows max even if she did tour, she has a baby and 2 major businesses, I'm not sure why people thought she was gonna do a 100+ date WW tour. 

 

5. ) Rihanna makes way too much money nowadays to care for a deal like the Samsung one in 2016 for releasing Anti. She will release music on her terms (and yes I agree music hasn't been a priority for her), and not when the right $ amount is in her face

Imagine thinking Rihanna the billionaire, who became a billionaire thanks to her brands, returned to music for the money. She gets more $ releasing new lipsticks than she ever will releasing a single (...especially for a soundtrack)   ...assuming she was even paid for Black Panther.

 

Super bowl performers never get paid, that's... a fact. If anything she invested her own money into the creation of the show, or some of it. She didn't have to do it, nor did she ever need to headline it if she didn't want to. And... she was gonna embark on a tour this year, headline Coachella and/or Glastonbury to follow up her SB performance, which, again... she didn't have to.

Yeah I know the wait for new music is so stressful and not exciting, but to say she doesn't have the passion for music anymore or she wants to retire is just speculation. Not something that is true. I'm good with the release of Lift Me Up and Born Again and the two performances at Super Bowl and the Oscars. But some of the navy needs to accept she is not the Rihanna anymore who only released albums because of her contract to get out of it. I would do the same as a singer. Now she has time to explore new things, be more creative with music and don't have the pressure on her that a release is due. She is in her thirties and I think becoming a mum is her biggest dream. And now she is on her good way. We as her navy needs to be patience. Other singers even bands taking their time to release music. Look a Tool for example. The band released a new record after 10 years in between after their last album. I think 2024 is the Year where Rihanna will take over the charts again with brand new music.
