If she really delayed the lead, I'm certain most of this shrinking fanbase will lose interest. And I'm not trying to sound dramatic here — she still has time to turn things around with LG7. Of course, she doesn't owe us anything, but from a fan's perspective, there's no reason to stick around with high-energy for someone who no longer consistently delivers the kind of art most of us love. We'll end up like the Navys — we'll always love her and she'll remain our favorite, but we'll let go of the "stan" mindset. When she comes back, she comes back, but the fandom will fade, and the motivation to stay engaged will slowly die out (and we're already starting to see this happen).

but in all seriousness, her streaming stats are some of her best she's ever had with past hits getting their flowers and still dominating. adding LG7's lead into the mix will only be a good thing for her music career, so there's zero reason to delay it.

Personally, I think her standing with the general public is the strongest it's been since 2010. My comments were more about her fandom, and like you mentioned, casual fans are starting to drift away.

 

However, it would be amazing if she could combine her GP success with a reconnection to her core fanbase. That would be a huge win for her. I don't want her to become like P!nk  We've seen old tracks go viral over the years, and if she delivers, she could truly make everyone happy. 

The kii if Fad is also dropping a new single tomorrow. New Gaga and new Bruno battling for #2 while DWAS remains pretty on top.

It would have been bigger (even #1 on Hot 100) if they did. A viral tv performance on VMAs or any other TV show to have another Shallow viral love performance could have helped tremendously.

That's a wishful thinking.. Abra's realistic prediction is 4.7M though.

If JFAD didn't flop, the radio silence wouldn't be an issue. We would still be building an immense amount of hype right now.

But we don't even know if the LG7 lead is even coming anymore, and the excitement is def being killed because of that. And it WILL impact the single's performance.
 

a surprise release wouldn't work or be smart at this point. Gaga or an insider needs to say something ASAP if they want to help salvage the next era's performance.
