ARTPOP could have been such a fun visual era with loads of choreography and music videos. I think she was affected too much by its underperformance that she let it compromise her art

Hmmm or maybe it is because her manager at the time forced her to make the second single of her album the song with the known sex offender and then that manager quit when Gaga refused to release the shitty mv that would of ended her career. She was ready to serve us Venus visuals, she had already announced Venus as the second single. Then months later after dealing with the mess Troy left behind, she used her own money to pay for a high budget music video since her label refused to pay for her and wanted her to move on. 
The album underperforming did not compromise her art. It is kind of insulting to her that she went through all that **** for fans to twist what really happened. Maybe you should read up on your ARTPOP herstory before making baseless accusations at her

She literally said that Troy gave her less than a week to come up with an idea for the DWUW video. She already had a concept for Venus. 
Gaga is not entirely innocent, she did decide to put R. Kelly on the song in the first place. But she had no control over the singles. She pushed hard for Aura, Sexxx Dreams and Venus. Gaga did everything she could do to fight for her art. 
You may want to rewatch the G.U.Y video. Especially the opening where she’s left for dead and men in suits fill their pockets with money and leave her

making dwuw a single isnt a terrible idea. it was and still best song on artpop. troy or her label is genious if anything for pushing dwuw as a single. it was best performing song during that time as well.

She could have continued the era without Troy if she wanted. She’s Lady Gaga. Anyone would have worked with her at that point in her career. She was only on her third album at such a young age and already considered a legend. I feel like she let her ego get in the way a lot. Applause and the albums underperformance likely hit her hard when she realised she wasn’t the biggest star anymore. Her fans love her because of her vision and creativity, and she needed to know how loved she still was by millions. It’s a real shame it affected her whole career and she lost that ambition and drive she had
