Meltdowns in this thread about Gaga performing La Vie En Rose with another legend Celine Dion  you guys are literally never happy with anything she does. Just a reminder that she doesn't work FOR YOU. If you're that upset then don't watch and/or stan another artist—it's not that hard. 

I guess I'd prefer her to sing something else but this is another great platform that continues to solidify Gaga's status as a legend, so I'll take it! I just really need her to take advantage of the exposure heading into the LG7 era though. Leaving it too late when all the Olympics/Joker hype has drifted off would be a disaster imo.

Yeah I can see both Celine and Gaga doing multiple songs too

 

It should be like this:

 

- Gaga sings Bad Romance acoustic while shes in that platform, with the piano burning. She then sings a shortened version of Shallow, rock-ish. In the end she says, I'll always remember us this way, Paris, France, World, see you in some weeks. (and she performs at the closing ceremony too) 

 

- Then Gagas platform keeps moving to meet Celine, who will be singing "Pourquoi tu m'aimes encore" and "Hymne À L'Amour"

 

- Then they meet in a beautiful bridge and sing La Vie En Rose in stunning feathered coats by Dior

 

 

 

This is the perfect time to actually announce/release the lead for LG7. The amount of publicity she will get across the GLOBE with Olympics and J2 is unprecedented. She can reach a new career height with good material and timing.

That's as legendary as it gets, people are so annoying.  La Vie En Rose is probably the only French song most non-French-speaking people know, and an important song to the French.  To ask Gaga, an American, to perform it with Celine is f**king incredible and a testament to how respected she is on a global scale.  I mean, remember that the French made Always Remember Us This Way a hit, they stan.

Or when you wanted Ms.Gaga to promote The Cure instead of ASIB, or thought Shallow would flop?

 

Gaga is always three steps ahead, she needs to remember people she's as talented or more as she showed in ASIB to finally get her roses criticallt with LG7  and her Acting oscar.

Yeah the French love for Gaga is real 

A duet with celine performing la vie en bore, would be a cute moment, obviously not what we would prefer given how badly we want new music. But i don't see it as a surprise, she has been prioritizing the GP more than pop stans for the longest time now. Honestly i think it is the smart thing to do, it will create a lot of good press for her in the run up to joker, wheras if she did a pop song the fans would obviously gag but the GP would forget about it instantly. I think attaching herself to celines big comeback is a smart thing to do, as much as it pains me to say. That being said i do think it will be a beautiful moment for us to enjoy

I really need Gaga to have taken pronunciation lessions in the first weeks...well, Celine also has a Quebec accent so maybe their accents will fuse and no one will care about Gaga pronouncing rose like rrrrose

It's a surprise to sing with the voice of a generation after news that she might have not been able to sing again. It's a surprise that she's rumouredly gonna be the only non French speaking singer in the opening ceremony. It's surprising that she might do all this in the rivers of the Sein in Dior feathers.

To be asked by the Olympic committee and the French government, as an American, to perform one of the most culturally important and popular French songs in history at the opening of the Olympics is one of the biggest flexes and honors ever.  Seriously.

I would be so nervous if I was her and had to perform anything in French to the French, I hope she practiced a lot too
