I respect that people here can find her non-pop endeavours completely inconsequential, they're not how I grew to love her as an artist either. But like, her performing with a musical legend on a stage as big as the Olympics opening ceremony is such a massive honour and is going to bode so well for her public image. Fair enough if you don't enjoy these aspects of her career, but it's been discussed in here for weeks since the rumour began that she would (more than likely) not be performing new music at the Olympics. I want LG7 as much as the next person, but this platform was never going to be where it all kicked off. Of course it would be ideal for her to ride the wave of good publicity and announce afterwards, but if you've been following her for years you'll know that she and her team aren't the best at that. So I guess you need to expect there's a chance that won't happen either, or better yet presume that won't happen. And then I'll understand the frustrations a bit more.

 

But still at least she's working and doing these high scale things like movies and big performances. The wait for new music would be a lot more boring if she wasn't.

To sum up, that Jolly guy basically bring Vegas acts to Paris.

It didn't have to be new music though. Could just be a non-cliché song that she hasn't done to death. Hope it's a great performance regardless.

They're not taking the double whammy of JFAD being a potentially acclaimed blockbuster and the Olympics performance slot in a single week very well. But this is just the beginning.
