Her acting and doing music for the same film will probably always equate to her competing against herself, and it'd be way too easy for the Academy and Industry to award the music side in lieu of her acting. You can always borrow (parts of) renowned imagery and pay homage to the classics which really helps establish a strong visual connection and on the commercial front, there's less pressure for the soundtrack to perform like a regular album. Plus, creating a full soundtrack of original songs from scratch, especially for such a big tentpole film like this, is a mammoth undertaking and I'm glad she's relieving herself of that and making sure her acting performance is what's driving the conversation around her.
