Fame comes with downsides and things people in her position don't like to do, it's part of the game, she perfectly knows that, she made a whole album about that.

 

I'm sure she still feels occasionally this way and she said it also not long time ago, but you can't be a famous popstar and substract yourself from certain dyanmics, otherwise you just have to retired and it's not realistic that with a certain patrimony you don't invest in some business activities, you have to.

The Haus Editorials she did back in 2017 was perfect. She promoted the makeup products she used while serving looks. I don't think any of us would be complaining about haus labs if she served mini editorials shoots using their products

No offense to you guys but this fanbase is quite literally the dumbest fanbase on the Internet. Pretending like she has been some kind of anti-capitalist her entire career is the textbook definition of forcing your beliefs onto your fave because you are not mentally sane enough to not form a parasocial relationship.

What are you talking about? This fanbase (not saying you personally, just in general) complained about every single one of these pieces of media. They hated the videos because they were related to Haus Labs and stanned those photos until they realized they did not mean any new music and were just her having fun.   

 

Having integrity is working your butt off and networking with people in the industry as opposed to just expecting fans to eat up your brand. She is doing exactly with this company what she has always done with her music: putting her entire Gagussy into it. Just like she does with music when speaking to music fans, she tailored her talking points and even her cadence to these venture capitalist types. She has the balls to be honest and upfront about capitalism as opposed to being like 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺i'm just a wittle business owner pls buy my product🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺.

i loved those haus editorial, they were so fun 

it's okay for some of y'all not to care about her capitalistic ventures, after all she's always been in it -- capitalism and its marketing logic have always engufled pop music. at the same time, it is also reasonable for some fans to be sad over what a bore of an artist she's become. the output since artpop has been subpar at best except a few moments of glory (911 short film for me) and the drive for solo projects just seems to not be there anymore. sure she doesn't owe us anything and we're all free to go stan someone else who's more invested in their art (I'm sure most of us do) and I'm glad she found a safe haven in jazz and acting but let people be bugged by the fact that she's capable of so much more art and music wise (although I understand that a few meltdowns take it too far and make it seem a bigger deal than it is).

 

The problem isn’t so much the quote, as tin eared as it reads, but that her art that she is going on about increasingly feels like it’s taking a backseat this decade to her sprouting inane **** as the CEO of a make-up corp or ambassador to whatever brand partnership she has that is the only consistent part of her work right now. 
 

Which makes it a far more dark sided time to be a fan moreso than 2012 or 2014 even if she feels better now living that Malibu guru blah blah lifestyle than she did then when she was scrapping to prove herself and self actualise as a musician without an exploitative ******* like Troy tugging at the reigns. 
 

I don’t know, I had hope that when she was being selective talking about the music she was working on since the Chromatica Ball that meant she was purposely only going to start to spill when she was ready to drop; and instead she started spilling and interacting when she had a Fortnite deal to dust off and announce and her company is ready to expand into Europe. She’s learnt from the Nurtec mess but in the wrong ways 

 

Even if she does drop music I don’t have faith in her mindset right now that it’s going to be any kind of priority for her and it will be buried as a footnote while she plans some kind of further Haus Labs expansion in 2025 that truly gets her juices flowing.

We’ll see I guess.
