Its not even everyone releasing their 2nd album in the time span that she released her last album, I guess thats partly where my frustration comes from but I was feeling positive about her working on new music etc but then she went and did the same old snoozefest jazz show in Vegas. Shes been doing this tired act more than her pop career at this point and whats worse is theres absolutely no revinention, shes not switching it up or adding anything new. Its the same show, same fashion, same tired covers that truly nobody gaf about. Nobody is gonna look to her in 50 years and think what an incredible jazz musician she was, none of her jazz covers have made any dent on the music industry and shes never even released original jazz music at least then there would be something to come from this but at this point I feel its just easy for her to get up there do the same old song and dance, cash a cheque and call it a day and thats what makes me lose hope for her future endeavors because its the same team of people surrounding her, doing this same old tired act rather then breaking the mold, evolving and being the all round risk taker she once was shes now slugging behind the music industry. Can she even be called a pop star anymore when shes basically just a full time jazz cover artist? Sorry for the rant but idk how we got so down bad.

 

Sidenote I'm happy if shes happy ofc this isn't a target on her personally, at the end of the day she should do what makes her happy I'm just over the art shes creating or the lack thereof maybe she doesn't want to be the pop star she once was and I just have to accept that, but as a long time fan seeing one of the most inovative artists leave their music career in the dust is ofc gonna leave me feeling a little disappointed.

yeah, the Beyoncé announcement pissed me off (the 2 songs she released are awful tho). Like, she released 2 whole albums since Chromatica dropped... It's so annoying to see every fanbase get something while Gaga only post about dumb make up and jazz (and I say this as someone who actually enjoy her jazz records ; it's just that it's not the same as original material).

Instinctually i would want to bring up how low and irrelevant her career was in 2014 (GUY era) and 2015 (pre Joanne in general). Exactly. There's a difference between being absent from the current conversation and absent from the zeitgeist. In 2024 even when things are quiet, Gaga's presence remains in the culture in a way that's not really comparable to post Artpop or pre Joanne.

I don't mind her Vegas jazz shows because they're legitimately good but like many have said, it would be far more interesting if she released her own jazz material. The covers have indeed gotten old.

 

In about 2-3 months, we'll have gone 2 years since she last released original material as a leading artist. And all she's released since is a feature on a rock song that, though a good song, she only appears in for like 40% of the time. What is going on with her?

I want to think so too, her discography is much more relevant nowadays, but the way the GP didn't even bat an eye for her presence in the SuperBowl worries me. Lana seems a more relevant public figure than Gaga these days. I'm sure J:FAD could raise her profile if it goes the right way. But with everyone announcing and Gaga not seizing her opportunities I'm getting a bit worried. Sometimes it feels like I'm rooting for someone who doesn't want to even participate in the game.

Sidebar but I wasn't a member during Chromatica release so all I was able to do was lurk and giggle. I'm v excited to clown properly for this rollout in here with my sisters instead of on Gagad*ily. Can't wait to experience the meltdowns
