I think Gaga would shine in a rock-infused album, something very Lenny Kravitz would be fantastic. American Woman or Fly Away for instance are rock songs that can be consumed by pop audiences, it'll be different but still very Gaga

Born This Way is very influenced by arena rock. It's a dance/synth-pop album but songs like Judas, Hair, Bad Kids, Highway Unicorn, Electric Chapel, The Queen, You And I, and The Edge of Glory all have strong arena rock influence in them. Even Marry The Night melodically is very Springsteen coded.

 

Not talking about you specifically, but some in this thread seem to have quite a narrow view of what rock music is. Like people actually asking if St. Vincent's Masseduction is rock??? Of course it is, but rock music can also have electronic and other influences. Honestly, a song like Los Ageless would be a brilliant template for a Gaga record

I agree, there are rock influences in all those songs you mentioned but they're still pop records first and foremost and that's why I said that even though Gaga is no stranger to rock music she has yet to deliver a song that we can call it rock.

 

I think Gaga going the Lenny Kravitz route could perhaps give us a really solid album

 

 

 

It wouldn't be a 100% rock album but she could explore and play with these types of sounds

Nah stuff will no doubt change even now. Nobody is working right now and marketing and promo will change. These studios are losing money right now. I expect budget cuts for JFAD when it comes to promo.

Born This Way was definitely an electro-pop album but those songs on Born This Way weren't classed as "rock songs" because they were released by an artist who is massively associated with pop music. If a band like The Killers had released those songs or songs with those same influences, they would fall quite easily into the "electronic rock" category. Rock and pop are actually quite similar in a lot of ways which is why the line can be blurred between them very frequently.

Yeah I'm no expert on rock music which is no surprise to anyone.

JFAD is the only high prolific DC branded film next year, also a sequel to the first billion dollar R rated film, WB isn’t cutting whatever budget its planning for the film’s promo / marketing

I'm trying to remain optimistic. I don't think the strike will stretch all the way to next fall. Hopefully they will reach an agreement before the spring.

liddos aren't asking for rock music tho, a few in the gaga base sure but most would prefer she made pure dance-pop for every album in her career
