October 20, 20232 yr comment_24734525 Ok, so despite me giving up hope for a new era before J:FAD, I've constantly thought Interscope would be STUPID to let her streaming numbers and overall presence in mainstream media just go down for a whole year when they don't even know how J:FAD will do and then wait after that for another album. Like, I know her team has made mistakes but this one would be a big one in terms of her commercial appeal. So her being at a recording studio today is promising. She could do a Miley and release a brand new single in January when it's less crowded and an album in March. As I've said before she could easily pull off a Harry's House era if she releases in January because it would be around a good six months before Joker would even start its promo. The days of paparazzis as we know it are long gone and whenever there are paparazzi photos it's the stars themselves that hired them to take pics. So since Gaga hasn't been photographed like this when she was doing her previous performances and was rumored to have been in both LA and NYC at recording studios these past few days, her and her team WANTED us to know she is at that recording studio, so I doubt they'd risk this just for a performance. I'm pretty sure the contracts made with record labels have a specific number of projects/albums to be released within a timeframe so I doubt she can just take a big break because she's making them money and is obligated to release this and that amount of projects in this specific timeframe. They usually don't actually, those kind of contract stipulations are quite rare especially in the 360 era and have a ton of variables, and if four years isn't too long, it's very unlikely five will be. Those kind of clauses in a contract usually relate to smaller deals, like a one-year option deal, and I believe Gaga's original deal was for five albums and she has since renegotiated and resigned her contract. She's obligated to release her music under Interscope, but they can't physically force her to record an album if she doesn't want to. It's also worth remembering that the JFAD soundtrack will be released through Interscope, so they already have a Lady Gaga release lined up for next year.
